The sludge dewatering screw presses (thickening

screw presses) are used for a continuous
dewatering of urban and industrial sludge.

Use The screw press is used for continuous dewatering of sludge

from urban as well as the industrial waste water treatment plants.

Principle of working The main part of the press is a slowly

rotating screw (speed of 0,5 to 1,5 rpm), fixed in a dewatering drum
with a very fine mesh. That ensures the lowest wearing part costs
(few moving parts).

Depending on the dewatering characteristics of the existing sludge

at municipal WWTPs, the dewatering
results of 18% to 24% can be achieved at a
throughput of 0,5 to 1,5 m3/h. The
dewatered sludge will be discharged from
the screw press continuously, i.e. into a
container which is situated beneath the
dewatering unit or can be transported
automatically by a conveying system to a
storage area.

All parts in contact with medium made of stainless steel. Due to the
low revolutions and the resulting high torque, the screw press can
be stopped at any time and will be ready to re-start immediately
without cleaning.
