To the Learner This is a listening comprehension exercise textbook for use with Minna no Nihongo I. It is difficult to understand a foreign language when listening to it, especially at the early stages. Therefore, it is important, first of all, to become used to the sound of the language, and then to gradually build up the ability to pick out important bits of information through repeated listening. This textbook has been made to match the degree of progress of learners using Minna no Nihongo; consequently, they can practice listening to the words and sentence patterns they have just studied. Of course, by selecting relevant grammatical items, it can also be used by those using other textbooks. Becoming able to hear and understand what one has studied is an enjoyable process. With this book, we hope you can continue this process every day. How to Use This Book 1, Read the questions. Important points you should listen for will be indicated. 2, Answer the question as you listen to the CD. Listen to the example at first, and you will clearly understand how to answer the question. 3. Look closely at any pictures or diagrams on the page. Consider the type of situation or what is trying to be expressed. 4. For sentences in which you have to write words or expressions in brackets, make sure you read the complete sentence before doing so. 5, The pause between questions is not very long. If necessary, stop the CD while you write your answers, 6. If you do not understand what is being said the first time you listen, listen to it two or three times. 7. Refer to the answer page to check your answers. 8. If after listening many times, you still do not understand, please refer to the separate CD booklet. While the questions basically use the vocabulary studied in the main text, occasionally new words will appear. For such words, please refer to the translation (English, Chinese and Korean) or the accompanying picture. eS ADEA (AAO AAD) RSH DHA BAH. OTOMNEAE HASTE, CBIR. SLUT A BI & HPRAMTHRK. RETIRE.
