Course Outline
Description:
A 12 week course, consisting of:
-20 lessons of general English improvement +
-10 lessons of Teacher Training and Cambridge University TKT* Examination
Preparation per week.

General Aims:
To prepare students for the Cambridge TKT examination
To give students a strong foundation in the core areas of teaching knowledge needed in
the English language Teaching classroom.
To improve students overall level of English
Target groups:
Pre service teachers
Teachers who wish to refresh their Teaching knowledge
Teachers who are moving to teaching English from another subject
Entry Level:
New enrolments need to be at a level equivalent to or above Aspect Intermediate level, ALTE
level B1 or IELTS 4.5. Students are placed in an Aspect General English class appropriate to
their level.
Resources:
For the General English component the materials are as given for this course,
appropriate to the level.
For the teacher Training and TKT component extensive use is made of published EFL
textbooks and supplementary materials.
Assessment:
General English assessment is as given for all general English courses.
Practice TKT tests taken throughout the course.
Final Cambridge ESOL TKT Examination is taken at the end of the course.
