1. This assignment contains only ONE (1) question that is set in both Malay and English. / Tugasan ini

3. Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the myINSPIRE for
preparation and submission of your assignment. Your assignment should be typed using 12 point Times
New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing. / Muat turunkan templat tugasan versi bahasa yang berkenaan
daripada myINSPIRE untuk penyediaan dan penyerahan tugasan anda. Tugasan anda hendaklah ditaip
dengan menggunakan saiz fon 12 Times New Roman dan langkau baris 1.5.

4. Your assignment should be between 2500 to 3000 words excluding references. Do not copy the
assignment question and instructions to your answer. Only assignment answer developed within the
approximate word limit will be assessed. The number of words should be shown at the end of your
assignment. / Tugasan anda hendaklah mengandungi 2500 hingga 3000 patah perkataan tidak termasuk
rujukan. Bilangan perkataan hendaklah ditunjukkan di hujung tugasan anda. Jangan menyalin soalan

assignment before the Final Semester Examination commences. /

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

Teaching mathematics by generating deduction and induction conclusion is a belief that


students can build their own mathematical concept of knowledge by integrating new
knowledge into an existing one.

Search through the internet or other sources to identify at least THREE articles on the use of
deduction and induction approaches. You are required to examine the articles, compare and
contrast the approaches employed and identify the implication of those approaches to the
teaching and learning of upper secondary mathematics.

You are assigned to teach the topic Sequences and Series to your upper secondary students.
Prepare a complete one hour lesson plan consisting of at least TWO learning activities in
teaching using deduction and induction approaches by giving suitable examples.

Identify TWO misunderstandings with examples commonly faced by the students in


generating conclusions using deduction and induction. Discuss the methods to overcome the
common errors made by the students.

Mengajar matematik dengan menjana kesimpulan secara deduksi dan induksi ialah suatu
kepercayaan bahawa pelajar dapat membina pengetahuan konsep matematik mereka secara
kendiri dengan mengintegrasikan pengetahuan baru kepada yang sedia ada.

Lakukan carian sama ada melalui internet atau sumber yang lain untuk mendapatkan
sekurang-kurangnya TIGA artikel yang mengenal pasti tentang penggunaan pendekatan
deduksi dan induksi. Anda dikehendaki untuk meneliti artikel-artikel tersebut, banding dan
bezakan pendekatan yang digunakan dan kenal pasti implikasi pendekatan tersebut terhadap
pengajaran dan pembelajaran matematik menengah atas.

Anda ditugaskan untuk mengajar topik Jujukan dan Siri kepada pelajar menengah atas.
Sediakan satu rancangan pengajaran yang lengkap untuk satu jam pengajaran dengan DUA
aktiviti pembelajaran untuk mengajar menggunakan pendekatan deduksi dan induksi berserta
dengan contoh-contoh yang sesuai.

Kenal pasti DUA salah faham bersama contoh-contoh yang biasa dihadapi oleh pelajar dalam
menjana kesimpulan menggunakan deduksi dan induksi. Bincangkan kaedah untuk mengatasi
kesilapan yang biasa dibuat oleh pelajar.
