He stated there would be activities from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM| Saturday and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Sunday, November 6 and 7, 1965. Sie "The Indianapolis News," a daily newspaper published in Indianapolis, Indiana, edition of November 3, 1965, contained a United Press International news story, date line Oregonia, Onio, in which Parkie Scott of Oregonia, who described himself as an organizer for the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, said the Klan would hold its first Indiana rally in years this weekend near Dillsboro, Scott stated that the rally would be held Saturday and Sunday in a field south of Dillsboro on Indiana 262. Scott said a cross burning will follow the speaking Saturday night and his announcement appealed for a "group of men to help build the cross Saturday afternoon.” The announcement further said the rally was for “every white, Christian American" and added that "no alcoholic beverages, Communists, niggers and beatniks will be allowed on the rally grounds." Scott added that souvenirs, food, coffee and soft drinks would be for sale on the grounds. The Indianapolis Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation submitted a memorandum dated November 5, 1965, on above matter, On November 6, 1965. } Indiana State Police, in charge of the Special Detail at Dillstoro, Indiana, advised that approximately 40 people showed up for the rally, He estimated that 160 sightseers also showed up for the rally. bE b7C Fe advised that as each individual attempted to go into the field where the rally was to be held that the Sheriff read to each one the restraining order which had been obtained vcore! The \ meeting took place on farm, however, neither James NS Imperial Wizard, now made an appearance. THIS caused 6xtrene disappointment . Approximately 75 persons were present and the POSSIBIlity exists that a very small number of those present were initiated into the Klan. The purpose of the meeting was to explain that the United Klans of America (UKA) was attempting to "raid and steal” members from the National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (NKKKK) for UKA. A Grand Dragon was supposed to be appointed for the State of Ohio, however, this appointment was not made.
