The rally began promptly at 7:30 p.m. with NKKKK’ Imperial Wizard James R. Venable acting as master of ceremonies. (J The National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, Inc., (NKKKK) was granted a charter in Georgia in 163 as a "patriotic, secret, social, and benevolent order." The NKKKK, a consolidation 4 of various Klans in southern States, continues x to be anti-Negro, anti-Jewish, anti-Catholic, KS and anti-foreign born. U Approximately 300_people attended the rally with approximately 100 wearing their Klan robes (men and women). There were young people in the crowd who seemed to have come out of curiosity rather than a sincere interest in the Klan. Ls Venable gave the principal speech in which he called for separation of the races. He also warned those assembled of what he called "a world court", that if not stopped would one day control everyme's life. Venable also stated that the Klan is continuing to grow in membership and that now it is seeking to enroll young people.
