4th Grade Project Living Healthier

Central Questioning:
How healthy food does benefits my body?

General objective:
a. Students will experiment the different benefits that are produced as a result of eating
healthy.
b. Students will discover the food that supplies all the vitamins their body needs and requires.
c. Students will demonstrate a heathy way of living by preparing their own healthy food.

Description:
The project will be focused to be worked in class mainly, they will identify which food is the one
that benefits them and prepare it in the class explaining; how to prepare it? Why they chose it?
And why is it healthy for them? Describing vitamins in each ingredient. They will also present a
table graph for the daily lunch, explaining how their lunch can be healthier.

Materials: Food ingredients ready to be mixed

Phase 1 The teacher explains the difference between healthy food and
junk food.
Students will elaborate in a paper a list of everything they ate
the day before from the morning to the evening.
Students will analyze it in a graph. How many vegetables did I
ate? How many fruits did I ate? How many healthy drinks did I
drank?, and they will go to My Plate to review information.
Phase 2 They will investigate from their parents what food is good for
them to eat and what type of food they are allergic to.
They will select one food or create a food that contains all the
vitamins and benefits their body needs.
Phase 3 In groups they will create a men from each group member.
They will elaborate a healthy luch, table program for each day
of school, having them thinking about the healthier way their
luch can be.
Phase 4 They will choose a food form the menu list and investigate
preparation

General objective:
a. Students will implement techniques to help classmates improve their language learning.
b. Students will demonstrate the ability to write in forms and styles appropriate to the topic,
audience and outlet.
c. Students will demonstrate the ability to apply useful information presented in a fun way using
interactive activities to acquire vocabulary and phrases in the target language.

Description:
Students will review the use of the top ten apps created to help us learning a language and then
review their experience to gather useful information so they can create an interactive activity using
the software Jclic and explain the approach applied plus the benefits we can get from doing that
kind of exercises. The activity will be presented as a class task having some students participate.

Materials: computer with windows 7 /8 or 10, pictures, vocabulary words of any category, a
microphone, and any instrumental song.

Phases:
Phase 1 Investigate about roots of languages and
discuss their findings in class
Phase 2 Presentation of a class, teaching a set of
vocabulary words in a foreign language

Phase 3 A class on how to use the software,
students prepare their activity on paper
and as homework they create the activity
to be interactive.
Phase 4 Presentation of activities and discussion
of the work they presented
