Sakais world-famous Nintoku-tenno-ryo Kofun is Japans largest tomb with a total
length of 486 m. Alongside the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt and the Mausoleum
of the First Qin Emperor of China, this is one of the world's three largest tombs.
Nintoku-tenno-ryo Kofun and the roughly 40 other tombs remain in the area are
collectively referred to as Mozu Kofungun, and together with Furuichi Kofungun
(spread over the cities of Habikino and Fujiidera) have been placed on the tentative
list for inscription as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
