Because the need for collaboration between students for assignments or projects does not

exist in this course, this training program will be made available to incarcerated persons
approaching their release or parole through the use of a learning management system
(LMS).
Information will be presented through pre-recorded video lectures that learners
will access on-demand.
Class discussions will be conducted live online at a designated day and time each
week. The facilitator will be live and can be viewed by learners who will have a
display window on their screen that will permit them to raise their hand and
type in comments or questions that can be viewed by both the facilitator and the
entire class. These discussions will be archived for persons who were not able to
attend live to watch on-demand. The drawback to watching on-demand is that
those individuals will have missed the opportunity to ask questions or participate
in the class discussion.
Private discussion cannot be accommodated. However, learners can send private
messages to the facilitator that can be addressed privately through the
communication tool provided through the learning management system.
Through the learning management system facilitators can post grades for
individuals that can only be seen by the facilitator and the corresponding student.
Feedback on assignments will be shared in like manner.
