1)Bartolome
De
Las
Casas
Defends
the
Indians
In
1552,
one
year
after
the
Debate
at
Valladolid,
Bartolome
De
las
Casas
a
compassionate
human
never
afraid
to
speak
up,
spoke
up
for
Indians
rights.
Intended
to
be
public
in
this
article
he
uses
persuasion
to
persuade
fellow
Spaniards
that
Indians
are
also
good
humans.
Bartolome
says
Indians
are
the
most
readied
people
to
be
taught
about
Christianity
for
their
good
hearts,
simplicity,
fellowships,
etcetera.
He
tries
to
tell
Sepulveda
his
thoughts
that
all
his
followers
and
him
are
doing
wrong
by
maltreating
Indians,
and
exemplifies
the
war
of
the
Romans
and
Spain
and
applies
personal
experience
comparison.
This
article
has
a
possibility
to
be
exaggerating
the
goodness
of
the
Indians
because
all
people
can
be
bad,
it
could
be
cross
referenced
with
an
article
by
Sepulveda.
2)Hernan
Cortes
Conquers
Mexico
This
is
a
private
letter
Hernan
Cortes,
conquistador
of
Aztecs,
wrote
to
the
Spanish
king
about
his
first
encounter
with
Moctezuma
in
1519.
It
is
a
private
letter,
which
serves
as
a
memoir
of
his
experience
with
the
leader
of
the
Aztecs
facts
are
omitted
because
he
could
still
exaggerate
more
the
beauty
of
the
empire
and
its
riches.
Basically
says
that
Moctezuma
thought
Hernan
was
sent
by
the
supreme
god
they
worshipped
and
tells
us
how
welcomed
he
felt
by
everyone
because
they
thought
he
was
a
divine
figure.
Hernan
shows
his
reaction
and
thoughts
on
his
first
meeting
and
thoughts
about
the
empire
as
a
whole.
There
can
exist
a
possibility
of
omissions
on
his
reactions.
3)Christopher
Columbuss
Journal
Written
in
1492,
by
Christopher
Columbus
as
one
of
his
journal
entries
when
he
reached
(America)a
new
land.
This
entry
was
determined
to
be
private,
it
is
kind
of
like
a
memoir
to
remember
the
inhabitants
of
this
new
place
and
facts
are
omitted
since
I
think
he
couldve
written
more.
It
says
that
the
Indians
are
normal
people
that
are
Canarian
colored
and
not
so
advanced
in
technology,
and
perhaps
they
could
become
Christians
easily.
Columbus
is
showing
his
thoughts
and
there
is
a
possibility
that
he
is
omitting
information.
