Materials Metal nail care tools, soap, hot water, rubbing alcohol

The teacher will provide students with pieces of paper. Three papers have
drawings of one star, two stars, and three stars respectively. Students
 who will get the paper from the draw lots will answer the following
questions:

1 star What are the different nail care tools and equipment?
2 stars What are the functions of the different nail care tools and
equipment?
3 stars What are the safety procedure of using nail care tools and
equipment?

2. Motivation Charades
The class will be divided into two groups. Each group will be given
2 words related to beauty nail care. Representative from each
group will act the terms given and the rest of the group will guess
within two minutes.
Terms:
Nail Cutting, Manicure, Pedicure, Nail Art
3. Activity Group the class into four groups. Each group will do a graphic
organizer. The content will be about the importance of cleaning nail
care tools and equipment. Each group will have 5 minutes to finish
the task and present it to the class. Before the activity, ask the
students about the standards in doing group activity. After the
activity, let the students properly arrange their chairs.
4. Analysis 1. Why is it important to clean nail care tools and equipment?
2. What are the benefits of cleaning nail care tools and equipment?
5. Abstraction Present the different materials in sterilizing and sanitizing nail care tools
and equipment; ask the students what should be the first step in sterilizing
and sanitizing nail care tools and equipment

- Soap and hot water, stove and casserole, rubbing alcohol, acetone

Guide the discussion with the following steps:

Steps to properly sterilize nail tools such as metal files and scissors:

- First, wash them with soap and hot water.

- Next, boil them in water for about 20 minutes.
- Finally, soak them in rubbing alcohol for another 20 minutes.

Metal tools may be more of an investment than disposable tools, but it will
be less expensive in the long run because you can sterilize these tools
and you wont have to throw them out after each use like some emery
boards and buffer blocks.

To clean nail art and nail polish brushes:

- Dip the brush into acetone

- Wipe the brush back and forth on strong paper towel
- Continue these steps until the paint has been removed from the
bristles
 - This ensures that the brush bristles maintain their shape as
opposed to just soaking them in soap and water or acetone.

6. Application Let the pupils sterilize and sanitize their nail care tools and equipment
according to the discussion earlier.

8. Assignment List down all your nail tools and equipment. Bring them to class next
meeting.
