SYNOPSIS
This course aims to help students understand and practise English Grammar within
communicative contexts. Grammatical structures will be taught in natural contexts, such as
engaging in conversations and reading articles. To practise both FORM and MEANING of these
grammatical structures, students will be provided with varied controlled exercises including
identifying common grammatical errors and correcting them. In addition, students will be
encouraged to use these structures freely and creatively in initiating open-ended communicative
activities. In order to incorporate the four major language skills tested in MUET, an integrated
skills approach is emphasised through activities and assessments that require students to
speak, read, and write effectively as well as to be able to respond appropriately to audio
input. To keep up with the current trend of learning English online, students will have access to
the MyLinE website where they can have more practice on grammar.
