Introduction

The Single Phase Portable Reference Meter Achook-1080 from Genus is a

hand held instrument, light in weight so that user can handle it easily & can carry over
to any place. Various measuring features combined with a user friendly keyboard
layout is providing the greatest possible flexibility for a comprehensive testing of
electricity meters in the field / Lab.
Its excellent measurement stability is reflecting the high quality of the system.
The compact design of Achook makes it an ideal reference meter for field testing
applications, where optimum accuracy required.

The main objective of this device is to measure the error of electricity meter
under test (MUT). This can also be used to compute the voltage, current, frequency,
power, power factor etc. Achook has an LCD display & an alphanumeric keypad. It
can be interfaced with the PC for analysis. This has a capability of storing 500 test
results.

Typical parameters:
Parameters Value
Voltage (V) 240 V + 30%
Current (I) 100 mA - 72 Amp
Frequency (Hz) 50 Hz + 5%

Part Description

1. Power supply connector (Patch Cord Cable):

This connector is used to supply the voltage in field
without disturbing the arrangements (Meter to Achook).
The injection type connector at one end gives the shock
proof environment. In the injection type end, red
connector to be connected to Phase & Black connector to
be connected to Neutral to measure the supply voltage.

2. Clamp CT:

The Clamp-CT is used to measure the current flow in

meter under test (MUT) without disturbing the wiring.

3. Snap Switch:

To measure the Error where the sensor head is not

applicable the Snap Switch is used. At one end this has
a small casing with a switch & other end has a
connector plug 4 Pin. This Switch is press at the start &
end of pulses

4
4. Sensor Head:

To detect the MUT pulse this Sensor Head (Scanner) is used.

By comparing Ref pulses& MUT pulses the Error is
produced by the Reference meter.

5. Molded Serial Data Cable:

(Gender changer cable with 9 Pin
M/F)

This Serial cable connects the Reference

Achook to the PC or Laptop's Serial ports.

6. Carrying Bag:

This is used for placing all accessories including

Achook after testing and carrying from one place
to another place.
