Hanapy, Our senior assistant of student affairs, Tn Hj Mazlan Bin Yaakob, Our senior assistant
administrative co-curricular, Tuan Hj Md Rejab __________, my fellow friends teachers and also my
beloved children of SK Padang Lumat. Assalamualaikum.

Today the 16th of April 2017, it is our turn again to be on this weekly duty. Myself teacher Hafizah, Cikgu
Zurawati, Ustaz Mazlan together with Puan Zunainah and _____________________________ will be
assisting all of you throughout this coming week. Make sure you come to see us if there is only any
important matter or problems regarding you or the school.

Without wasting any more time. The main topic which was given to me was Sedikit-sedikit lama-lama
jadi bukit or in line with the same Malays proverbs is selembar benang lama-lama jadi kain. Or you
can relate to an English proverb, as the saying goes many makes a mickle

Can you tell the meaning of these proverbs??

They are actually telling you to start saving with little amount of money, and later on you will have a lot
of money by the end.

You can start earning a lot of money when you can differentiate between what are the things that you
want and the things that you need. (Remember Year 4,5 and 6)??

Let me just revise them for you.

What are want? Kemahuan right?

Want are something that you desire but if you have it its okayand if you dont have it it is also okay.

For example : bags, new shoes, smart phone, key chains, junk food and etc.

Where else,

Need Kehendak

Is something that you really need and very important that as a school children, you cannot live with
them.

For example : food during recess time, you stationeries pencils, rulers, erasers. Your dictionary and etc.
Meaning things that are really, really important.
When you can differentiate between need and want..

Then, only you can only spent you pocket money

(money or allowance you parents gave you every morning or every week)

for what??

For something that are really really important.

And by the end of the day, you will find outthere are still some more money leftand tell me..

What will you do with this money??

You can start saving them in you saving boxes, your safety boxes, you coin box and etc.

And tell me

By the end of the years with all the money that you have. You can buy things that you really want or
just save them in your children saving account.

And by years, 1 year, 2 years 346.10 years20 years

You will have so much money in your saving account and these money you can always use them for you
education fund when you enter universities. You will turn became what?? Became college students with
money and not just depends on father and mother top-up money every month

So, with this Malay proverbs Sedikit-sedikit lama-lama jadi bukit means when you start saving from
now you will have so much moneyto fulfill your needs in future.

Thats all, and hope fully you gain up something from my speech just now and thank you so much for
