Grouser Bar Selector

LENGTH Determine the Length of the Grouser Bar

The first step in determining

what length of grouser bar to
buy is to measure the width of
the worn shoe. The length of the
bar will usually be the same as
the width of the shoe.

Measure the worn track shoe to determine size

SIZE of the replacement grouser

1) Start with original height (A)

2) Subtract worn height from
original height. (A-B) The
difference is the height of the
grouser bar needed.*
3) Measure the width of the
grouser at worn height
(C). The measurement is
approximately the width of
the grouser bar needed (Slight * We recommend regrousering up to 110% of original height. There are many cases, however, where
differences are acceptable.) it can be effective to grouser higher than 110%. Consult with your account manager for help.

Dura-Tuff offers straight, curved, and forged bar in varying

cut-to-length sizes.

Straight Grouser Bar Dura-Tuff straight bar is used when the grouser on
the shoe is worn evenly (as opposed to more wear on the ends of each shoe).
Straight bars are easy to weld on and work well with automated welders or
when shoes are trimmed straight.

Curved Grouser Bar Curved bar can be used as a time and money saving
regrouser option. The curved bar reduces job costs overall because very little
trimming is required.

Forged Grouser Bar The primary advantage for Forged Bar is the extra
shoulder support it provides. Companies that benefit most from using Forged
Bar are those where bulldozers get severe wear on the edges of the bar due to
excessive turning. The curve of the forged bar makes for easier bar replacement
and the natural bevel on the ends of the bar prevents further wear by extending
the life of the bar on machines where frequent turning is required.
