FATIMA ZEIDAN INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: \\._ If comfortable, can you tell me a bit about your past before PMTM? + Sure, prior to PMTM I was with another local agent but I wasnt content with just local work, I wanted more! In addition to that I was an office manager for a commercial lender. SX. What brought you to PMTM? + Twas at a booking through my former agency and a talent from PMTM working with me caught my attention. I inquired about her agency and ‘was surprised to hear about PMTM. I had never heard of them and up until this point I thought I had shopped all local agencies. \ What first got you interested in acting? + Twas 5 years old when I remember enjoying mimicking whatever characters | watched on TV, even reporters and announcers at such a young age. Getting compliments from friends and family made my passion grow stronger. I added more techniques as I got older especially since I had an audience at this point. My family and culture eventually began to instill so many rules and do’s and dont's that I didn’t have time to be creative and dreaming wasnt a productive activity as fas as they were concemed. I believe dreaming is the rough draft to our creative ideas. What do you hope to do in the future? Do you have any potential projects tat you would like to be a . part of? + Inthe future, I hope to be a successful and accomplished actor. ‘That would enable me to utilize the platform of success and recognition by becoming a spokesperson and mentor for children that have ever been told to stop dreaming and not believing in themselves. Dreaming is the first steps to expressing creativity. We should never shun a dreamer especially a child’s, they have so many fresh ideas! NX Who are your influences? + My influences, are actors that I have gotten compliments on looking like, such as Eva Longoria (which happens to be an IMTA Alum) Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek and Rosalyn Sanchez. Probably so because of the dark hair and dark features. However, its surprising to people when they find out I am middle eastern. Pethaps that is due to there not being any middle eastern actresses in Hollywood. Im excited to make that progress and bring that change. Its an honor to be the first. Other influences have been Oprah Winfrey and Meryl Streep for their resilience to rejection. Now people know them by their first names, ‘What did it feel like when you found out you were the winner of the “TV Real People” category, as well as runner-ups in 2 other categories? What was going through your head in those moments? + Wow!! When I found out I was the winner of the TV Real People category it was just as exciting to me as it was to my supportive PMTM team, We all found out together!! As they called the 3rd, 2nd, and Ist runner’s up and I was the last name they called my PMTM team was fueling my excitement. I remember looking at my instructors thinking to myself this ones for you! They prepared me to get to this accomplishing moment and I was proud to be a part of PMTM. Winning runner up in the other categories was just as rewarding I felt like my hard work was paying off! XY How would you summarize your IMTA experience overall? + My experience at IMTA was great!! However the extensive training PMTM provides talent prior to attending is what made it a great experience! Everything from the competitions to callbacks really is the stepping stone to a great career! S In what ways do you feel PMTM and IMTA have helped you? What did you learn from your experience(s)? + Where do I begin? The beautiful thing about PMTM is that the instructors are amazing! They really allow you to tap into your talents and creativity and by enhanced and professional training bring it to the IMTA competitions! The wonderful thing about IMTA is how they create this amazing platform for a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform in front of so many professionals in the industry that you normally wouldn’t have outside of IMTA, and although they are judged competitions. You are being supported and encouraged the whole week through. Its a fun experience even though its an adrenal rush of competitive talents! Are you excited to venture to LA and to be represented by Unified Management? When will you be leaving? . 1am extremely excited!! Im not sure if its really sunk in that I reached this goal! I need to sell my condo first. Once I get that started with a realtor which I will be meeting with in a couple of days I will start with a trial visit to plan for my move to LA. So to answer your question hopefully in the next 2-3 months may be sooner! \._ What do you have planned in preparation for your big move? More workshops/classes? + I definitely need to keep my skills sharpened. So I will start with the Master Classes that are offered at PMTM. ‘What advice do you have for women who are in a similar situation to what you escaped from? Are there places that can help? + The advice I have for them is never stop believing in yourself! Unfortunately there aren’t any places at this time that assist these women in transitioning. I say “these women” because they're situation is a little different than just going to a women’s shelter. This is why I am excited about having a platform. What would you tell your younger self now that you have achieved so much ahd are about to achieve even more amazing things in the industry? + I would tell my younger self to remember to always be Better not Bitter, life will take you on a journey stay strong little girl and hold on to the beliefs you can’t talk about. Keep believing that fairytales really do come true! You're dreams will become a reality one day soon...keep creating and developing your talents as an actor even if its just in a cardboard box!
