By the observation on the abundance of ayster spat, which attached to the spating ‘materials for 12 months (Sep 2007-Jul 2008) in Ben Suan Turian, Ban Tha Trai and Ban Pha Nod Koh Yor district, Muang, Songkla. It was found that abundance of oyster spet from all studies sites in Aug 2007 were higher than that found in Sep and Oct. Can not found any oyster spat during Nov 2007-Feb 2008, but some oyster spat wero observed in Mar-Jul 2008, Monthly abundance of oyster spat in all study sites were significantly different, the highest amount of ‘oyster spat found in Ban Suan Turian, following by Ban Tha Trai and Ban Pha Nod respectively. Average shell length of the oyster wore 2.05-3,70 cm. The shell length of the oyster in Ban Suan ‘Turian was highest end following with the shell length of the oyster in by Ban Tha Trai and Ban Pha Nod respectively. Tho calculation of average growth gain from the increasing of shell length ‘shown that the average gain during Aug 2007-Jun 2008 were 22.18-276.01 %. The lowest growth ‘ssin was observed in Aug 2007 end the highest growth gain was found in Feb 2008. Water ‘analysis data trom the study sites showed the high fluctuation of salinity, by the petiod of Fun-Oet 2007 the salinity was 23-8 ppt and salinity during Nov 2007-1en 2008 were 2-3 ppt. The salinity uring the months which found the oyster spat (Fun, Jul, Aug end Sep 2007) wero 23, 9 and 17 pt respectively. The lowest salinity found in Nov, Dec 2007 and Jan, Feb 2006 (3.2.4 and 6 ppt) ‘and correlated to the period which can not found oyster spat. Moreover, all of the oysier spat ‘which cultured before this period died during this months, The daia shown the correlation between salinity and the abundance of oyster (P<0.05) in all study nites. The rain level for several ‘months in 2007-2008 decreased water salinity and course to the mass morality of the oyster in the study sites. In conclusion, it wes not suitable for develop tho commercial scale culture of ‘Crassostrea sp. in Yor island, Songkla.
