RG30(BSS), Operating Documentation, Issue 08 > Install > Flexi EDGE BTS > Installing Flexi EDGE BTS Optional Items > Installing optional items Installing Flexi System External Alarm (FSEB) Purpose The optional Flexi System External Alarm Module (FSEB) is used when up to 24 external alarm inputs and 6 control outputs need to be supported with Nokia Flexi EDGE BTS, The module also supports Flexi Cabinet Fire Detector (FCDA), ‘The FSEB can be installed in the following ways: ‘+ Onawall (vertical or horizontal position) ‘+ On.amodule casing in pole, wall, or stack installations using Flexi Mounting Auxiliary Brackets (FMAA). For FMAA installation instructions, see Installing Flexi Mounting Auxiliary Brackets (FMAA). * On the FCIA or FCOA roof (horizontal position only) + InCitytalk cabinets, the FSEB can be installed on top of the stack (depending on working space) or outside of the cabinet. The box cannot be installed on the roof. If there is not enough space left for the FSEB or other auxiliary boxes on the FCIA, FCOA, or the FMAA, the additional auxiliary box(es) must be installed on a wall or pole close to the BTS. In stack, wall or pole installations, additional FMAA brackets can also be installed if there are multiple plinths. Note that the distance from each box to the BTS is limited by the lengths of the cables coming from the auxiliary box. Before you start Before installing the FSEB, see FSEB interface signals and connector pin assignments. In pole or wall installations, locate the box in the proximity of the System Module. in wall installations, make sure that the mounting surface is flat. The distance from the FSEB to the System Module is limited by the length of the alarm cable. fusing Flexi Mounting Auxiliary Brackets (FMAA), see the following figures for the installation position of the FSEB on the module casing, Figure FMA with FSES [DN70456047) Figure MAA with FSEB and FSEC ‘tps fortne prtal nn convpcfinfocenterproxyim 1247380 0H TM Utopicim 124730010. himUhim/docs/nstalingflex_edge_bis_opional_itemsiti702577 0 DN70456959 Instaling Flex! Wear an ESO wrist strap when handing the extemal lam conection box When connecting the cables, make sure that the cable lead-ins that are not used are blocked. A module ground cable is not included in the FSEB delivery. The minimum cross-section of the cable should be 2.5 mm? (14 AWG). The length of the cable should be determined based on the FSEB installation option (for example pole, wall, cabinet, 3rd party cabinet). ‘Summary ‘The FSEB can be installed either horizontally (cable lead-ins on the side) or vertically (cable lead-ins downwards, or left or right).
