adems de identificar y describir las partes de una casa, por ejemplo, en un
contexto de cambio de residencia por cuestiones laborales.

Revisa la siguiente imagen y lee las oraciones, despus identifica lo que hay en ella.

There is a school.
There is a hotel.
There is a hospital.

There is hay (en singular)

Indica la existencia de una cosa en algn lugar. Se utiliza con sustantivos contables,
por ejemplo: apple, chair, car, dog, etc.
Siempre va acompaado de a/an (un/una).

Revisa los siguientes ejemplos:

There is a dog in the house.

There is a tree on the street.
There is a bird on the tree.

There are hay (en plural)

Indica la existencia de ms de una cosa en algn lugar. Se utiliza con sustantivos

contables pero en plural, por ejemplo: apples, chairs, cars, dogs, etc.
Puede llevar el nmero de las cosas que existen en el lugar.

Por ejemplo:

There are two dogs in the house.

There are trees on the street.
There are four birds on the tree.

Negacin
Nota:
Recuerda las
There isnt (is not) a table.
reglas para crear
There isnt (is not) a car. el plural de los
sustantivos.
There arent (are not) any desks.
There arent (are not) any computers.

Cuando se emplea la negacin en plural se agrega la palabra any antes del

sustantivo.

1. A la mayora de los sustantivos Ejemplo:

slo se les agrega una s al final.

2. Si la palabra termina en s, ss, sh, x,

Ejemplo:
z, le agregas es.

3. Si la palabra termina en f o fe,

Ejemplo:
cmbialos por ves.

4. Si la palabra termina en una

Ejemplo:
consonante + y, cambia la y por
i y agrega es.

5. Si la palabra termina en una vocal

Ejemplo:
+ y, o en vocal + o, slo se agrega
una s.

6. Si la palabra termina en Ejemplo:

consonante+ "o" solo se agrega "es"

Algunos sustantivos no llevan s al final al convertirlos en plural, ya que son

irregulares.

2. How can I get to the post office?

Las preposiciones de lugar nos ayudan a identificar dnde se encuentran los objetos.

Para dar direcciones utilizars las preposiciones de lugar. Adems, necesitas conocer
algunos verbos:

A: How can I get to the bank?

3 B: Go straight ahead on West Street. and the banks is next to
the Supermarket.

Aplica las nociones gramaticales y el vocabulario de esta unidad en torno a su medio
local para poder describir las partes de una casa.

Revisa la siguiente imagen y lee con atencin el texto. Identifica las preposiciones en
el texto y los objetos de la casa.

In my house there is a living room. In the living room there is a TV, a chair
next to the TV and a table in front of the TV. Also, there is a mirror on the wall.
There is a kitchen. In the kitchen there are cupboards and a fridge. Also, there
is a sink and a microwave next to sink. In the study, there is a desk and there is
a computer on the desk.

Recuerdas el vocabulario de casa?

Puedes utilizar there is/there are y las proposiciones para mencionar la ubicacin de
los objetos de la casa, como en el tema anterior.
