Abstract

The treatment cost of DM outpatients with complication is estimated to exceed the cost of
uncomplicated DM. However, JKN claim was generalized regardless of the case (IDR 155.000/visit).
This study aims to determine the correlation between the treatment cost with amount and type of DM
complication and their conformity with JKN claim. The research was conducted by analytic and cross
sectional study. Data taken from medical record and details of treatment cost of DM outpatient using
JKN in RSI Jombang period 1 January - 31 December 2014 with total sampling method counted 110
sample and analyzed by non-parametric test. There was significant and positive correlation between
treatment cost and amount of DM complication (r = 0.414, p = 0.000) and also with type of DM
complication (r = 0.334, p = 0.000). The average cost of DM without complications was IDR 99.049
9.316, with one complication IDR 112.722 20.468, and with two complications or more IDR
120,711 18,512. The average cost of DM with microvascular complications was IDR 115.828
22,057, macrovascular IDR 108.747 12.430 and both IDR 124.449 21.133. It was concluded that
there was increase in average outpatient cost of DM patients with complication in RSI Jombang but
not exceeding JKN claim.
