Dynatrace DC RUM 12.3


Introduction
The DC RUM Associate Certification validates that you have knowledge of the DC RUM infrastructure,
data collection, modeling, and visualization concepts. This exam is not based on a specific software version.
However, it is recommended to use the most current software version and training materials for exam
preparation.
This exam blueprint provides the content and context of the DC RUM Associate Certification. Please
review this blueprint in its entirety to gain a thorough understanding of exam expectations and
requirements.

Prerequisite Knowledge
While knowledge of DC RUM is required to achieve this certification, examinees must also have
working knowledge in the following areas:
Familiarity with OSI Model and common network protocols
Familiarity with network administration and design
Familiarity with LAN/WAN, routers, and switches
Familiarity with SQL
Familiarity with Windows Administration and Linux command line
Exam Preparation
DC RUM Associate Certification is intended for individuals who have theoretical knowledge and some
hands-on experience with DC RUM. The combination of virtual instructor led training (vILT) courses,
self-paced learning on Dynatrace University, self-study in the Dynatrace Community, and some basic
hands-on experience will prepare the examinee for certification. Prior to taking the exam, there is an
option to take the Taste of the Test. This gives individuals the opportunity to take an example of the
exam without it being counted in the total score. We strongly recommend that the following milestones
be achieved in preparation for the exam:
Experience working with DC RUM in a small to medium installation (1-2 AMDs, 1 CAS, 1 ADS)
Experience in working with the HTTP, Soap, XML, and SQL monitoring
Participate in the Dynatrace Community (https://community.dynatrace.com) including:
o Product documentation
o Discussion forums
o Webinars
Complete DC RUM Product Fundamentals self-paced courses available on Dynatrace University
(http://apmu.dynatrace.com)

Exam Format
The DC RUM Associate Certification is approximately 74 multiple choice items. Examinees
have 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the exam where the exam is 100% computer graded,
with a passing score of 77%.
The exam may include both multiple-choice and multiple-response items.
Multiple-choice: select one option from a list that best answers the question or completes the
statement.
Multiple-response: select multiple options from a list to answer the question or complete the
statement. Multiple-response test items are clearly identified. Partial percentage for each
correct answer is given and that same percentage is deducted for an incorrect choice.
Scheduling
Certification exams are administered and proctored by Examity. We have partnered with Examity, an
online proctoring service, to protect the value of the certification. By utilizing an online proctor there is no
need to travel to a testing center. The exam can be taken on a computer, from almost any location. To
schedule a DC RUM Associate exam, please log in to Dynatrace University and follow the certification
icons. Once you have accepted the Dynatrace Certification Terms and Conditions, you can connect with
Examity to schedule the exam. You must schedule the exam at least 24 hours in advance of the time in
which you wish to take the exam.

1. Recall basic reporting concepts. To include:


1.1. Data collection, retention, storage and granularity in the CAS and the ADS
1.2. Software Services, Operations, Sites
1.3. Applications, Transactions, Tiers

2. Recall how to utilize out of the box reports (Application Health Status, RUM Analysis
Reports, EUE Overview reports) for Performance Monitoring. To include:
2.1. Describe the primary metrics available on each of the out of the box reports
2.2. Navigate out of the box reports to determine fault domain
2.3. Configure, filter and sort out of the box reports
3. Recall the characteristics of creating and modifying DMI Reports. To include:
3.1. Define a report layout
3.2. Edit report sections
3.3. Specify dimensions and metrics
3.4. Specify time ranges
3.5. Create drilldown links
3.6. Define aliases
3.7. Configure color rendering
3.8. Define publishing actions
