1. What is OysterConnect.com?
OysterConnect.com is India's biggest Virtual Internship Platform wherein we source
and carry out high quality, large scale, multi-city, real time projects from top
companies and get high quality MBA & Undergrad students to work upon the same.
All these project are 100% managed by our inhouse team of project managers who
guide the students at each step of the engagement. Students are given Completion
Certificate at the end of the engagement. They are also paid stipend on successful
accomplishment of deliverables.

2. What kind of companies OysterConnect.com has partnered with?


OysterConnet.com has partnered with some of the best brands of the country.
TripAdvisor India, Nestle India, Shiksha.com, Hindustan Unilever Limited & Google

respective projects and strategic engagements.

4. Which Client Partner will I be working for?


You will get to work on any one or more of our client partners (Such as TripAdvisor,
Nestle India, HUL or any other similar company) requirements depending on your
location and our internal priorities.
High Performers / students with internship duration thats longer than 8
weeks will be given an opportunity to work for more than one client partner.
All the others will get to work on a single client partners requirements only
5. What kind of work will I be doing as part of my internship program?
You will get to work in the areas of Brand Activation, Co-branding activities, Market
Mapping, Market Research and Vendor Engagement etc.

6. What are the details of work that I will get to work as part of my
internship?
Most of the Interns will start their engagement on a project with TripAdvisor. We
have been working with TripAdvisor India for close to 2 years wherein we implement
their Annual co-branding program with their 30,000+ Restaurant and Hotel
partners. This means that our interns will visit these Restaurants/Hotels and educate
them about TripAdvisor and create on-site visibility by way of "Review us on Trip
Advisor" stickers. If the Restaurant/Hotel listing is incomplete on TripAdvisor then
the same is acquired along with pictures of the Menu and Site.

Once you have achieved the base target on the 1st project, then you may be moved to
another opportunity with other companies like Nestle, Shiksha.com, Quikr &
Hindustan Unilever Limited.

7. Which city will I be working in?


You will be asked 2-3 cities of your preference and we will try our best to deploy you
in one of them only. Here are the list of cities that you can choose from -
Metros - Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad
South Cities - Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Vishakhapatnam,
Kochi, Mangalore, Mysore, Tirupati, Ooty, Pondicherry, Thekkady, Coorg,
Idukki, Kodaikanal, Munnar
North Cities - Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Dharmasala, Jaipur,
Jodhpur, Mathura, Udaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Jaisalmer, Leh Ladakh, Katra,
Vrindavan, Pushkar
East, West & Central India Cities - Mumbai, Guwahati, Bhopal,
Bhubaneshwar, Bikaner, Darjeeling, Port Blair, Gangtok, Khajuraho, Mount
Abu, Shirdi
Students who are from these cities (hometown / current location / willing to travel to
these locations) will be given preference in the selection process.

8. How many openings do we have?


We are looking at on boarding 300 interns between the period Jan 17 to Jun17.
We have already closed 75% of the above stated vacancies.

9. I am an HR / Finance student, can I apply for these Internship


opportunities?
These opportunities are meant for Marketing, Sales and Retail students. We would
not recommend them to an HR or Finance student.

10. Will I need to travel as part of my responsibilities?


Yes, you will be expected to do local travelling to carry out the assigned tasks
successfully. Students who are not comfortable with fieldwork should not apply.
11. Will OysterConnect.com take care of my accommodation and travel?
No. Students are expected to manage their accommodation and travel on their own.
You are advised to opt for cities where you have family or friends so that you do not
incur too much expenses.

12. When will the Internship start?


This will be adjusted as per your college internship schedule.

13. My college has internship schedule thats longer than 8 weeks, is it


possible to work for a longer time?
Yes. It is possible to extend your internship for more than 8 weeks. You will be given
targets / stipends keeping your internship schedule in mind. We prefer students who
are available for longer durations.

14. Will I be working in OysterConnects office? Or will I be required to visit


OysterConnects office during the Internship period?
No. you will be working in your assigned city on a virtual basis, however an
OysterConnect Project Manager will always remain in touch with you to help you
achieve your deliverables.

15. What kind of students have joined the SIP @ OysterConnect.com?


We have onboarded students from top 100 colleges of the country. Some of them
have joined in their individual capacity while some others have joined via their
College Authorities.

16. Which all colleges have signed up with OysterConnect.com as part of


their Summer Internship Placement Process?
More than 50 colleges have partnered with us - ICFAI group, XIMB, SIMS, MITSOT,
ITM Kharghar, FOSTIIMA & BIMTECH are some of them.

Rewards & Benefits

17. What kind of stipend can I expect to earn?


This will completely depend on your performance. The more number of Targets you
accomplish, the higher stipend you will earn. An average student should be able to
make stipend in the range of Rs 5,000 - 7,500/- per month. In the past, students have
made as much as Rs 10,000/- too on a monthly basis.

18. What kind of targets will I have?


You will have predefined tangible non-revenue targets. These will be communicated
to you in the beginning itself. You are expected to work very closely with the assigned
Project Manager in order to achieve them successfully.

19. If I do not achieve my targets, will I be eligible for certificate / stipend?


OysterConnect.com acknowledges the need of doing summer internships with
complete dedication and sincerity. This will be your first exposure to a Corporate life,
and hence you are expected to work the way you would do in a full time job. We have
determined base targets which we believe every student is capable of achieving.
Students who carry out all the assigned tasks (irrespective of the output) will be given
the certificate. Stipend will be given to only those who achieve their
minimum targets.

20. Who will I get the Internship Certificate from? OysterConnect.com or


their Client Partner?
You will receive the Internship Certificate from OysterConnect.com. You will also
receive a Live Project Certificate from our Client Partner.

21. Considering so many students will be working on the SIP, how will a high
performer be differentiated from others?
Depending on the performance during first couple of weeks, all the interns will be
categorized into 3 categories - High Performer, Average Performer & Needs
Improvement Performer. From here onwards they will have separate targets and
rewards. A high performer is differentiated via -
KSA Rating - a high performer will get a rating of 5,5,5 and the same is
mentioned on the certificate too
Certificates of Excellence - We announce and put various certificates of
excellence for grab on a regular basis. Students who achieve the
predetermined deliverables are given these CoEs
Multiple Project opportunities - students who achieve the base targets on the
first project are moved to other opportunities.

Recruitment & Selection Process

22.I am keen to apply for OysterConnect.com - Summer Internship


Program, what is the process for the same?
You need to apply to the Summer Internship opening on the portal. Click here to view
the same.

23.What is the the last date to apply?


We should receive your application at least 10 days before your internship start date,
however, since we have limited openings in each city, you should apply at the earliest
to improve your chances of selection.

24.What will be the selection criteria?


We will have a comprehensive multi stage selection process for the internship
program. Following are the key parameters that will be considered -
You should score a minimum of 60% in the OysterConnect.com Aptitude
Assessment.
Based on the above score, you will be shortlisted for a telephonic interview
Your past performance on other projects, if any will be given a high weightage
in the selection process. Students who have completed 1 or more projects
successfully will have a higher chance of making through the process
We have limited openings in each city. Students would be given preference on
first come first serve basis

25.I have received the offer letter, does it mean I am selected or are there
more rounds left?
Receiving an offer letter means you are selected, there will be no more rounds.

26.When will I get confirmation on the location I have been chosen for?
You will be deployed in one of the cities that you have mentioned as your preference
city. A final confirmation will be given a month before the internship start date.

Post Selection / Before Joining

27. Where do I need to report on my joining date?


You must reach the assigned city at least 2 days before the internship start date. You
do not need to report to any office on your joining. You need to be at your respective
place in the assigned city (home / PG / hostel) and must ensure the following -
You have internet connectivity
Your phone is working
You are available on WhatsApp

28.Who will I be reporting to?


You will be assigned a Project Manager from OysterConnect.com who will work with
you very closely to ensure you achieve your targets.

29.When will the OysterConnect Project Manager contact me?


You will start receiving a the training material and other details about a week before
your joining date.

30. How will the Project Manager communicate with me?


Project Manager will engage with you via Email / Conference calls / Whatsapp. Make
sure you have updated your contact details on your OysterConnect.com profile.

Miscellaneous

31. My college has a fixed Certificate format. Can you customize the
Certificate for me as per my colleges format?
Yes. Please share the format template to the assigned Project Manager at the end of
your Internship Program and we will be able to accommodate the requirements.

32.I am expected to submit a Summer Internship report in my college, will


the Project Manager help me in creating my report?
Yes. You are expected to create your project report as per your college format and
then send it to the assigned Project Manager for review.

33.There are few more students from my college who are working for the
same client partner, we can not have the same project in our project
report, how will OysterConnect.com manage the same?
Yes, we will have more than one student from a particular college working on the
same project, however we will ensure that we give and approve different titles in their
respective reports. You must convey such requirements to the assigned Project
Manager beforehand.
