SONATA No. 4 in C minor “An eighteenth century edition (Haffner) of this sonata is thought to have been known to Mozart. The fantasia-type Larghetto, reminiscent of the Bach * Fantasia’ in the same key, leads into the second movement through a dominant Cadence. The Allegro must nor be too fast or the driving Allegro assai which follows will fail to act as a climax to the work Gs a whole. Fhe last two movements require careful fingerings adapted to the individual hand.
