I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Mr. Jordan Dusting for almost three school years. As his direct
principal for both the past three academic years, I have had the opportunity of conducting both formal and informal
evaluations on Jordan, and observing him in general day to day operations in his role as a middle/high school Science
teacher and Head of Department at The American School of Bangkok.

No doubt Jordan has letters of reference full of superlatives; he deserves them. He is a dedicated teacher and
committed to student learning. He is passionate about his subject matter and is a very skillful teacher in terms of his
pedagogy in the classroom. For example, when I visit his classroom I often see interdisciplinary lessons in which
students are collaborating with each other as members of a team; various formative assessment strategies integrated
into individual lessons; students asking higher level thinking questions; multiple levels of differentiated instruction;
and students performing in leadership positions.

Another area in which Jordan excels in is his ability to grasp and maintain students attention throughout the entirety
of the lesson. He often engages his students by relating lessons to real-world applications and integrating hands-on
activities (labs) which require students to utilize critical thinking skills. Another strength of Jordans, in my opinion, is
his ability to differentiate and meet the needs of ALL students, which is no easy task as his students represent a very
large range of abilities. If you were to observe his classroom, it would quickly become apparent that he has created a
classroom in which all students are held to high expectations.

Among his many skills, Jordan excels with communication. He exemplifies the fact that communication is at the
forefront of any positive relationship and because of this, the product of his efforts consistently exceed expectations.
Jordan has created a strong rapport with students, parents, and colleagues alike by building and fostering a
cooperative learning community.

No letter of reference would be complete without mentioning Jordans commitment to our students as it extends well
beyond the classroom. For example, Jordan has coached various teams within our athletics program and tutored
many students in our after school curricular program. In fact, Jordan created the newly found ASB Swim Team, which
included everything from recruiting students to participate to ensuring the pool was safe and appropriate for
competition use. Additionally, as the Science and Math Head of Department for our school, Jordan often sought out
new opportunities for the teachers within his department and was vital in the creation and development of our newly
adopted NGSS curriculum.

As you can see, Jordan is one who take initiative and thinks outside the box. I value that Jordan is not a status quo
teacher in that he is often looking to try something new, or change for the better of his students. Jordan is highly
looked upon by both teachers and our parent community. He is an innovative teacher, and a true 21st century
educator whom I believe we are fortunate to have here at ASB. As an administrator and educator, it is my
professional opinion that Mr. Jordan Dusting would be a great asset to any school. I endorse his candidacy
enthusiastically and without reservation. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding Mr.
Dustings candidacy.
