MOBY DICK THEME : KINDNESS

Based on the story Moby Dick by Herman Melville , one of the theme is
kindness. The theme only at a few of situation.

The part is when Captain Ahab saved Pip. Pip asked to join the whalers to
go out on the boat to catch the whales, he is afraid to jump off the boat for a few
times. Stubb and other whalers were furious and want to leave him in the sea.
Later, the Pequod and Captain Ahab rescued Pip.

Captain Ahab helps him onto the ship. Pip is a cooks helper on the ship.
Since that incident, Pip considers Captain Ahab as God and follows him
everywhere. Captain Ahab also never shout and always smile at Pip. Whenever Pip
screams for help, he calm him down. Captain Ahab also takes care of Pip like a son
in his room.

Even Pip are annoying and insane person, but at the moments , Captain
Ahab shows a compassionate side and duty-bound as a captain for Pip. We can
learn about kindness from the selfish and quick tempered person like Captain
Ahab. From this part , it shows that we must kind adopt each other. It also shows
that the ego person like Captain Ahab has a kind character in inside.

Kindness is important in our life. Kindness has the own benefit to us and
people around. So we should have a kind attitude even we are in hard situation
because the positive attitude can be a problem completion.
