Pumpkin Carving
The origin of pumpkin carving was originally from the Irish, they brought it to America. It all started during Hallows
Eve where they would carve Turnips, since there was no pumpkins in Ireland. The Irish did it because of an old folk
tale called Stingy Jack.

The folk tale was that a man named Jack invited the Devil to have a drink, Jack had no money to pay for it, so Jack
tricked the Devil into turning into a coin to pay for the drink. Jack never bought the drink and just kept the Devil in
his pocket until the Devil agreed to no bother him for a year. Then a year later the Devil met with Jack again and Jack
said for the Devil to go up in the tree and pick a fruit. Jack then put a cross on the tree so the Devil could not come
down until he agreed no agreed not to mess with Jack for another ten years. Jack soon died and God would not
allow him into Heaven and Devil stuck to his word and would not claim Jacks soul but made him wander around
Earth with a lit coal that Jack put into a carved turnip, creating the Pumpkin Carving.
