Church Blog

Blog Number: 1

Welcome to the Church of The Nazarene, Weston-Super-Mare, Church Blog. This is our new
website and we have set up our own church blog to interest you and give you a in site into what we
do at our fellowship.

We have a Sunday morning service at 10:30am where we have fellowship with one another
and spend time worshiping God by singing hymns and reading Gods wonderful word. My favourite
passage from the Bible is in the book of Romans, Chapter 10, Verse 9: If you shall confess with ye
mouth and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you shall be saved. I
understand this passage by reading that it says if you believe the Lord Jesus Christ you shall be
saved.

At our church, we also have an evening service at 6:30pm and we call this Caf Church
because we spend time together reading Gods word and singing hymns and we also have a short
prayer time after we have shared tea and cakes together. This is such a nice time to sit and chat and
reflect on how the week has gone and to thank God for what he has done for us all over the past
week or so by providing us with food and drink and keeping us safe. In one of our services we spent
time reading part of the book of Ephesians, Chapter 4 and we were thinking about why God has
called us to be part of his Kingdom and His church. We talked about this and thought that God called
all of us to be part of His church for some reason or another but we dont know why. Then we
thought that we are all here as Gods children for a purpose and that we are here in our lovely
church with a new minister to make Gods church and Gods Kingdom bigger and to support and
help people that are in great need. So, we all should work together as a team and use our
teamworking skills to work for God because we are each one of Gods disciples. We have all got
different talents and strengths and weaknesses. That is why God made us all different so we can all
do different things and tasks and open our hearts to work for our loving God.

Another thing that we do here in our church is that we have a Mothers and Tots meeting
called JAM Tots. JAM means Jesus And Me. The children all do different activities and enjoy
themselves and have a Bible story which the parents can listen to as well. They also have toast in the
morning and Ivor is very busy every Monday morning making all the toast for the families. We have
our childrens JAM Tots group on a Monday morning between 9am 12pm. The children also have
their own prayer time in the JAM Tots meeting and they call it Hedgehog prayer. We do this
because we need to present Gods love to people in all different communities and all different types
of situations and our church is here in Weston to help and serve people in Weston-Super-Mare. We
also do this to show people that we care and that God cares for each of us Day by Day. We all come
from different backgrounds and walks of life and its amazing to know that God is there when we are
in danger or struggling in a situation because he said that I will never leave you nor forsake you.

On the first Tuesday of every month we have a TLC (Tuesday Lunch at Church) between 1pm
3pm. We spend time together and have fellowship together which I believe is very important.
There is also a prayer meeting led by Shelia between 12pm 1pm for people that need someone to
talk with or have things to pray for. There is a prayer box at the entrance to our church and inside
the church for any prayer requests and these requests are read and prayed for every Tuesday by
Shelia and her group.
We also do this so people can see that we are Christians and hopefully people can see Jesus through
us by the way we act and the way we generally are.

In any situation, we need to show Christian love to everyone and in any situation. For this, we have a
prayer and Bible Study meeting on a Wednesday night between 6:30pm 8:00pm. We pray for one
another and for our local community and for our church. This is because challenges arise at any
moment. But when we pray to God, He listens to and answers our prayers. This is how we can grow
in our Christian faith. Jesus gives love to everyone. He also gives them His command of love that we
should obey. God says that we should love one another and love each other in their new Christian
life as they have been Born again.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is a God that raises people up, this can be in any situation and when we need
support or a shoulder to cry on, HOPE is in our lives.

Finally, we are part of this church for a reason and this is because we see the fruits of our church and
Jesuss Kingdom growing forever more.

A Bible Scripture Reading: The havens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his
handywork.
