ABSTRACT

Malaria is a disease caused by plasmodium and is transmitted by the

Anopheles mosquito vector through its bite. Malaria disease can cause an adverse
effects on humans and potentially cause death. Malaria is caused by the physical
condition of the house and the surrounding environment such as mosquito
breeding place where it can breed and cause a disease, gold processing machine
(galundung) can become a place for mosquito breeding because it has a water
reservoir left open and flooded for several days until the machines are reused for
processing.
The type of this research is an analytic survey with case control design
and case comparison with control is 1: 1 and there were 52 samples. The purpose
of this study is to determine the relationship between the physical condition of the
house and the presence of galundung against the incidence of malaria samples
taken with purposive sampling technique.
The result showed that there were correlation between wire netting in
ventilation (p = 0,000), wall density (p = 0,016), ceiling (p = 0,000), mosquito
larva around Galundung (p = 0,000), distance between house and machine
<500M (p = 0,000) to the incidence of malaria in Hutabargot.
It is suggested to the government of Mandailing Natal Regency in order to
increase the cooperation between cross-sector in overcoming malaria incidents
involving related offices, community leaders and the community by paying
attention to the surrounding environment which could potentially cause malaria
disease, and alert in combating and eradicating malaria diseases. Provide
counseling on how to prevent malaria disease.
