Interview Guide for B.

Ed TESOL students
The purpose of the interview:
To identify students perspectives towards the use of technology (ICT) by the lecturer, how it
may affect their engagement in learning, success and constraint they face and their belief of
possible use of technology (ICT) for the future teaching.
Statement of interview topic and confidentiality of the respondents
Dear students,
You are sent this letter because previously, you have agreed to be interviewed regarding your
views and experiences of learning in the course I visited. This interview is carried out in
order to gather information about your opinions in learning with ICT offered in this course.
This interview is to ask your thinking about what you have learned from the lesson. I will
also want to ask you to explain if the experience of using ICT that you have in this lesson
may help you in your learning throughout the course, have effect on other courses that you
may take and your opinion if using ICT will be a consideration for your future teaching too. I
will make sure that the information you share will not affect your score or achievement in any
way.
I would like to inform you that this interview is recorded and statements or important quotes
will also be noted as we go along with the talk. The purpose of the recording is very
important as I need to recall in detail the discussion we have or information you share for
further analysis. Regarding this, I ensure that your identity will be kept confidential. In other
words, you will remain anonymous. Data is used only for the purpose of the research. You
will be informed when the analysis has been completed and if you wish, I will share the
findings with you.
Regarding the place for the interview, I will let you as the person to fully decide where it will
be the most convenient for you to meet and talk.
