ABSTRAK

Taruna, Andang. 2016. Pengaruh Ekstrak Ubi Jalar Ungu (Ipomoea batatas L.)
Terhadap Kadar HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) Tikus Putih Jantan (Rattus
norvegicus strain wistar) Model Aterosklerosis. Tugas Akhir, Fakultas

Latar Belakang : Aterosklerosis merupakan penyebab penyakit jantung koroner
yang diperkirakan bertanggung jawab terhadap sejumlah besar kematian di dunia.
Ekstrak Ubi jalar Ungu mengandung antioksidan yang dapat meningkatkan kadar
kolesterol HDL sebagai protektif terhadap adanya plak aterosklerosis.
Tujuan : membuktikan bahwa Ekstrak Ubi Jalar Ungu (Ipomoea batatas L.)
berpengaruh terhadap kadar HDL pada Tikus Jantan Putih (Rattus novergicus strain
wistar) Model Aterosklerosis.
Metode : True Experimental, Post Test Only Control Group Design dengan
kelompok kontrol negatif, kontrol positif, serta 3 kelompok perlakuan ekstrak Ubi
Jalar Ungu yaitu dosis 24mg/kgBB/hari, 48mg/kgBB/hari, 96mg/kgBB/hari.
Hasil Penelitian dan Diskusi : Hasil Uji One Way Anova p=0,000 (p<0,05)
terdapat perbedaan signifikan. Hasil Uji Post Hoc didapatkan konotasi berbeda
antar kelompok. Hasil Uji Korelasi terdapat hubungan yang kuat yaitu p=0,000
(p<0,05). Pada Uji Regresi linier didapatkan R2=0.68. Berdasarkan hasil uji yang
dilakukan menunjukkan semakin tinggi dosis ekstrak yang diberikan, semakin
tinggi kadar HDL tikus.
Kesimpulan : Pemberian ekstrak ubi jalar ungu (Ipomoea batatas L.) berpengaruh
dapat meningkatkan kadar HDL tikus putih jantan (Rattus novergicus Strain
wistar) model aterosklerosis.

Background : Atherosclerosis is the leading cause of coronary heart disease is
estimated to be responsible for a large number of deaths in the world. Purple sweet
potato extract contains antioxidants that can increase levels of HDL cholesterol
level as protective of atherosclerotic plaque.
Objective : Proving that purple sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas L.) extract takes
effect towards HDL level in Atheroclerosis Model of White Male Rats (Rattus
novergicus strain wistar).
Method : True Experimental, Post Test Only Control Group Design with group of
negative control, positive control, and 3 groups of purple sweet potatoes extract
treatment with 24mg/kg/day, 48/mg/kg/day, 96mg/kg/hari doses.
Result and Discussion : The result of One Way Anova Test p=0,000 (p<0,05) had
significant difference. The result of Post Hoc Test had different conotation among
groups. The result of Correlation Test has strong correlation that is p=0,000
(p<0,05). In Regression Linier Test showed R2=0.68. Based on the results of the
test showed that the higher dose of the extract is given, the higher level of rats
HDL.
Conclusion : Administration of purple sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas L.) extract
takes effect to increase HDL level in atherosclerosis model of white male rats
(Rattus novergicus Strain wistar).
