Lesson 7 c: A year in British Columbia Lesson 7d: Whats the matter? Lesson 7e: Photography club members
Goal: Tell your partners what people usually do according with seasons.
Ask to know what the problem is and give a solution.
Ask about your classmates profiles.
Set up: Rules, recommendations and clubs
Warm up: students will tell their daily routine to their classmates who are next to them, then they will match
their slips of paper about school objects with their real objects.
Transition: Teacher will ask if they have ever wondered about how our occupations, jobs and lifestyles change
our daily routines, then teacher will ask some questions to know how much they know about simple present
for the third person.
Activity 1: students will watch the video about School life in Kenya, then they will answer exercises 1 to 3 on
page 84, then they will discuss some facts about school life in different countries.
Transition: Teacher will give some people daily routines flashcards to students, and then teacher will explain
them how to create questions (yes or no) and information questions, they will try to guess what is peoples
occupations according with their daily routines.
Activity 2: students will have to ask to their partners using their own questions about daily routines.
Transition: Teacher will tell students they are going to listen to track 53 on page 85 about interview to a
teacher in Kenya who appears in the photo of page 84.
Activity 3: Students will discuss what children do in different seasons, how their daily routines change.
Transition: teacher will tell students, they will receive a worksheet with sportsmans routine, and teacher will
ask them how to create questions.
Activity 4: They will complete the questions about a soccer players daily routine.
Transition: Teacher will ask if they have ever wondered about how weather affects our activities, jobs and
routines, then teacher will explain some wh-words questions such as (what, where, when, who, why & how)
to know how much students know about when to use them.
Activity 5: students will watch the video about how weather affects our mood, then they will elaborate some
in formation questions using a worksheet as a guide, then they will ask each other those questions in a zig zag
way.
Transition: Teacher will give some people daily routines flashcards to students, and then teacher will explain
them how to create questions (yes or no) and information questions, they will try to guess what is peoples
occupations according with their daily routines.
Activity 6: students will have to ask to their partners using their own questions about daily routines.
Transition: teacher will ask what typical problems they have with the weather when they are working or on
vacation
Activity 7: (Wrap up) Students will discuss what they do in different seasons, how their daily routines change;
they will create a conversation about how to solve a problem using as a conversation model the conversations
on page 88
Homework: they will complete Unit 7 in their workbooks.
Materials: Book, Cd, multimedia room, worksheets and markers.
