Instructor Directions
1. Students will need to login to the universitys learning management system, CourseDen.
2. The instructor should post an introduction to the Second Week of the online class in the
announcement section of CourseDen. The announcement should include a link to the
week-two module folder, explaining that within the folder are more links that student will
need to explore.
3. Within the week-two module folder, direct students to review the following content by
clicking on the corresponding link:

b. Web Article: Why You Need To Treat Your Social Media Strategy Like Your
Content Strategy
c. Atomic Learning Tutorials (login required): Online Marketing 101

4. Direct students to complete the assignment by filling out the word document attached in
the week-two module folder in CourseDen. Directions for the assignment are to be
included at the top of the document students are expected to complete, while the
expectations/rubric are to be included at the end (see appendix A).

Comments:
This action plan was complete and included both well documented and original ideas for addressing
the social media goal. However, the action plan could have been more specific with regards to idea
development. The ideas presented in the action plan were only closely related to a social media
audit (the focus) as increasing website traffic is a goal tied to social media, but is not a goal related
specifically to a social media audit.
Differentiated Instruction
Auditory learners - Adult learners who prefer to listen to content will have the opportunity
to listen to videos and use accessible screen readers to hear written articles.
Visual learners - Adult learners who prefer visual stimulation will have the option of both
reading articles and watching videos of specific content.
Kinesthetic learners - Adult learners who are more hands-on will have the opportunity to
take online tutorials that include practice activities.

Setting
The instructions and performance task assessment will be both executed in a fully online
environment, using Brightspace by D2L learning management system. Student will be able to
access the needed materials and complete the performance task at their discretion during the
week in which the task is assigned. While students may log in the LMS and work at their own
pace, there is a due date by which the performance task must be complete.
Learners
The students are working adults with varied ethnicity, background and age. However, the
typical student that pursues this certificate program is an adult learner and an employee of a
non-profit organization. The students have usually taken at least some college-level course
work.

1. Review the article 5 Ways to Develop a Social Media Strategy again.
2. You will develop a plan of action based on one of the 5 ways to develop a social media
strategy discussed in the article. Pick one that you wish to address for this assignment:
Do a social media audit - determine what is not working
Use a shotgun approach for reliable reach - Increase the amount of content
and post in more places to increase the chances it will be seen
Analyze competitors - discover what is working for your competitors
Create an audience strategy - Figure out the overlap between why you think
your product is important and why your customer thinks its important
Analyze mobile options - make your header image count
3. Determine the ways you can adapt your social media outlet based on the topic you
chose to work. Follow the outline below for the best results.
