Display-related Settings

Main Window
Select which of Dr.ABE or AP100 parameters
are to be opened when machine and material
parameters are opened from the main
window.
* To fully utilize the functions of
Dr.ABE_Blank-Laser, we recommend using
Dr.ABE machine and materials parameters.

Message at the Completion of Automatic


Processing
Enter the message that is displayed when the
processing of Auto Execute ends.

CAD data drawing


Select whether to display parts in the main
window or nesting schedule window in 3D or
as an unfold figure.

Result View

Drawing
Select how nesting results are displayed.
Quality Displays results with priority given to
quality. Parts and materials are
color-coded.
Speed Displays results with priority given to
speed.

One-point Advice
When Quality is set, a lot of memory is
required. Set this item only when the PC is a
high-performance model.

View Y Size
Sets the height of the nesting results display
window in pixels.

Display Setting
Quality Mode
Sets the display color of the nesting results
when Drawing is set to Quality.
Speed Mode
Sets the display color of the nesting results
when Drawing is set to Speed.
By Process After
Sets the display color for each end value
(e.g. chute, machine stop).
By Cutting Condition of Laser Tool
Sets whether or not to change the display
color for each cutting condition.

Expand All is Done After Automatic


Opens and displays all nesting results when
the processing of the Auto Execute ends.

Max Number of Open Sheets


When this checkbox is selected and the
maximum number of sheets is entered, the
nesting results are opened and displayed only
for the maximum number of sheets starting
with the first sheet.

One-point Advice:
Note that the maxium number of sheets that
can be concurrently edited when you select
Edit menu in the Nesting Results window
depends on the number specified here.

Zoom in The Parat Edit Display to


Sets the height in pixels of the window that
appears when you select Edit menu in the
Nesting Results window.

Information Area
Selects whether or not to display "Parts Info",
"Error List" or "NC Data" in the Nesting
Results window.

Information Area X Size


Sets the width of the "Parts Info", "Error List"
or "NC Data" display area in pixels.

Zoom In Ratio
Sets the zoom in ratio when zoom in is
selected in the nesting results window.

Zoom Out Ratio


Sets the zoom out ratio when zoom out is
selected in the nesting results window.

Auto Scale Clearance Value


Sets the clearance value around parts when
auto scale is selected in the nesting results
window.

Auto Scale Clearance Value of Error


Sets the clearance value when zoom in is
automatically performed on the error section
in the nesting results window.

Utilization Setting
Sets the utilization calculation method when
nesting of parts in parts is performed.
The orange hatched section in the figure is
calculated as a part.

Holes Include
Select this checkbox to include holes in the
utilization calculation.

System Setting

Import Unit
Select either of Metric or Inch as the data
unit when loading CAD data.

Display Unit
Select either of Metric or Inch as the unit of
displayed or output dimensions.

Language
Select one of the following languages as the
window display language: Japanese,
English, Chinese, Korean, German,
Spanish, French, Italian.

Database
Select the pattern data load source and NC
program output destination.
SDD SDD, the AP100 database in
Japan and Asia, is used.
MiniSDD MiniSDD, the AP100 database in
America and Europe, is used.
File SSD and MiniSDD are not used,
and Windows folders are used
directly.

Simulation
Select the simulation software.
AP100 Simulation of AP100
AP100 Simulation of MiniSDD systems
Global
LINEA5 Simulation of LINEA5
Dr.ABE Simulation of this product
Blank
None Simulation is not used.

Version
Selects the version of the AP100 software
when AP100 is selected for simulation above.
(Normally, the version is automatically set
when Dr.ABE is installed.)

CADEditor
Selects the CAD software used for modifying
pattern data.
AP100 AP100 unfold figures are used.
FabriCAD FabriCAD is used.

Initial Part Number


Sets the Part Quantity in the main window.

Sheet Select by
Sets the rules when selecting materials used
for nesting.
Material Select this item when setting
Name multiple material names and using
them selectively even on same
material types/thicknesses.
Specify this item when using SDD.
Material/ Select this item when there is only
Thickness one same material type/thickness.

Use Wizard for Sheet Size/Name


Select this checkbox to display candidates for
materials to be used and manually select the
used material at "Auto Execute".

License Registration
Registers the Dr.ABE license.

Registration
When the security block is used: Specify a
compatible license key file (Radan.key).

System Backup & Restore


Various current preference settings, nesting
schedules and nesting results can be backed
up to a single file.

For details on operation, see the next item


"About Backing Up and Restoring Settings".

System Information
Displays the version information of each
component.

Preference Frame Current Folder

Sets the name of the folder to save the


preferences to.
(Normally, leave this setting at this default.)

Parameter Processing
Set this item to automatically update Dr.ABE
with new machine and material parameters
when they have been updated on SDD.

Machine Parameter Server PC


Enter the name of the server containing the
SDD machine parameters. When the server is
located on the same computer as Dr.ABE,
enter "Localhost".

Material Parameter Server PC


Enter the name of the server containing the
SDD material parameters. When the server is
located on the same computer as Dr.ABE,
enter "Localhost".

SDD Parameter Automatic Download


Set this item to automatically update Dr.ABE
with new machine and material parameters
when they have been updated on SDD. In
this case, set the version of Microsoft SQL
Server.

MiniSDD Parameter Automatic Download


Set this item to automatically update Dr.ABE
with new machine and material parameters
when they have been updated on MiniSDD.

At the time of
Set the timing that parameters are
automatically updated from SDD or MiniSDD.
Parameters are not automatically updated
when the update timing is not set here. When
parameters are automatically updated, all of
the parameters are not overwritten; only
differences are added to the parameters.

Processing

Data Server PC(AP100/PCL)


Enter the name of the PC where SDD or
MiniSDD is installed. When SDD or MiniSDD
is located on the same computer as Dr.ABE,
enter "Localhost".

Access Information Manager


Currently, this is not used.

Decrease Sheet Quantity When Save NC


The sheet quantity is decreased from
materials management when NC data is
saved.

Select Skeleton/Remnant to Save When


Save NC
A list of remnants and skeleton materials is
displayed when NC data is saved so that you
can select the materials to register to
materials management. When this checkbox
is not selected, all remnants and skeleton
materials are registered to materials
management. (Note, however, that when
generation of remnants and skeleton
materials is not set to ON at the Nesting
Preference, remnants and skeleton materials
are not registered to materials management.)

Option-related Settings

In this window, you set special processing for loading nesting plans from or handing over
nesting results to other computer systems.
The options in this window need not be set if special processing is not to be performed.

About Backing Up and Restoring Settings


If you backup settings, you can leave the current settings, nesting plans, nesting results, and
parameters in files. You can also restore settings from backup files.

Backing Up Settings

(1) Back up settings by the following procedure.

1. Selecting the items to back up


Select the items at (1) in the figure on the
left.

2. Selecting the file name


Set the save destination folder and save
file name at (2) in the figure on the left.
Click the Browse button, and search for
and select the save file. Select the folder,
and enter the save file name. (We
recommend making a folder for backups
beforehand.)

3. Executing the backup


Click the Backup button at (3) in the figure
on the left to execute the backup.

4. During the backup, the window changes as


shown in the figure on the left.
Make sure that "Success!" is displayed
before clicking Close.

Restoring settings

(1) Restore settings by the following procedure.

1. Selecting the file name


Select the save file name at (1) in the
(2) figure on the left.

2. Selecting the items to restore


(3) Select the items to restore at (2) in the
figure on the left.

3. Executing a restore
Click the Restore button at (3) in the figure
on the left to execute the restore.

4. During a restore, the window changes as


shown in the figure on the left.
Make sure that "Success!" is displayed
before clicking Close.
