Lecleire-Type TEST REPORT: spreadsheet by HR Suiter

Fill in YELLOW boxes --- Make sure to clear (not zero) old readings from beneath new set.
(others are calculated) --- Extend to more zones by copying last column of reduction from rows 20 to 42, and 49 (all others locked).
--- Make fewer zones by clearing columns (minimum = 3).
--- Change "tester motion" line to 2 if moving-source tester, otherwise 1
--- Be sure to change limits of graph if you exceed 12 zones.
--- You can put extra measurements in "optional" lines.
--- Reference parabola enhancement is not automatic! You must insert correct parameters.

(1) theoretical LA at COC of zone average radii

(2) alternate "Zone 3" parameter that you can use (it doesn't matter, but k will change slightly)
(3) adjustment for min TA, wavefront, or Strehl
(4) The Texereau standard method is to hunt for offset and quadratic parameter so that the reference parabola is
either entirely above or below measured wavefront and touches two points. Several are valid, but only one will
cup wavefront in a way that leads to minimum error. Please note that this spreadsheet will attempt to calculate
a reasonable guess at the right value even if this procedure is not followed, but that you may not be finding the
best reference parabola.
(5) The reference parabola that yields the best Strehl ratio is not generally the one that gives the minimum
peak-to-valley error. By the way, you must use a true Couder screen for this weighting to be accurate.
Also note that the Strehl ratio is inaccurate for a mirror test taken over only the diameter instead of the whole
mirror. It appears here only for teaching purposes. This stick-figured Strehl is generally underestimated,
which is all to the good.
