As per Government Order read as 1sr paper above Government
issued Rules for Allotment and Occupation of Government Servant's
Quarters with effect from 1st March,2006.

2. Government are pleased to issue amendment to the Rules for

Allotment and Occupation of Government Servant's Quarters in Kerala,
2006, appended to this Order.

GOVERNMENT SERVANTS' QUARTERS IN KERALA 2006

1. These Rules may be called the Amendment Rules for the aliormem and
o cc upa tio no f Government Serva nr's Qua rte rs i.n Kern la, 2006.

3. Amendment of the Rules issued under GO(MS)No.11/2006/PWD dared

28.02.2006.

1) ln rule 9, after c la use (viii) the following clauses s ha 11 be ins e rte cl, na 1ne ly :-

"(ix) SO'}o of rhe q uaners shall be reserved for allotment to vvo mens ta ff
(x) Go vemment servants who are from dis rant places".

2) (i) in rule 10, for the figure and words "75Nos." the figure and words "200"
Nos." shall be substituted; .

(ii) After the vvo rds oe pu ty Speaker" the words "Leader of 0 ppo sitio n" shall be
inserted;

(iii) forthe existing clause (ii), the following clauses shall be substituted na1net1-

"(ii) Members of the personal staff including Government employees shall vacate
the quarters allotted to rhemwithin one month positivelyfmmrhe dare on which
Llit~\'. ceases to be the member of pcrsonalswff.

(ii)(a) Not withstanding anything contained in these Rules, the Government

employees who were ceased to be members of personal staff, but continued in
the Govern~nt Quarters allotted to them under clause (ii) of Rule 10 as it stood
before this amendment, shall vacate the quarters within one month posirivel>'
from the elate ofthis amendment, if they have not been allotted the Govemmem
quaners under rule 6 or 32."

3) (i) in rule 16 (i), for the words "not exceeding six monr11s" the word "not
exceeding three ITX>nths" shall be substituted.

(ii) .!I1 mle 16(ii), for the words "not exceeding six months" the words "not
exceeding three months" shall be substituted.

(iu) ~1 rule 16 (iv). for the words "six rnont11s" the words "three months" shall be
substituted.

(iv) In rnle 16 (iv) (a), forthe words "six months" the words''three months shall be .

(v)ln rule 16(v) for the wo rrls ''six months" the words "three months" shall be
substituted.

(vi) In rule (vi), for the words "two years" the words "three months" shalt be
substiruted.

4) In rule 27,

(i) The sentence ''This period may be extended up to six roonths in exceptional
cases with the permission of the Executive Engineer in writing'' shall be omitted.

(ii) Forthe words "exceed six imnths" the words "exceed three months" shall be
substituted.
