A uc debate temticas que percorrem a prtica artstica contempornea, tomando como
eixos a reflexo em torno do conceito de espao e a situao do corpo. Perspectiva os
campos da cenografia, pintura, escultura, instalao, performance ou vdeo e utiliza,
como questo comum, a definio de imagem enquanto superfcie e profundidade.
Pretende que os alunos se familiarizem com textos fundamentais e obras de artistas,
fomentando a anlise crtica.
4. LEARNING OBJECTIVES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES TO BE DEVELOPED

The course discuss themes that cover the contemporary artistic practice, taking as axes
the reflection around the concept of space and the situation of the body. Reflects about
the fields of scenography, painting, sculpture, installation, performance or video and
uses, as a common question, the definition of image as surface and depth. Wants
students to become familiar with fundamental texts and works by artists, fostering
critical analysis.
5. CONTEDOS PROGRAMTICOS (MX. 1000 CARACTERES)
A uc toma como motivos transversais a definio de imagem como superfcie e
profundidade; a aproximao ao espao por parte do espectador, de acordo com os
conceitos de ptico e hptico. Como temticas de cada sesso, aponta-se:
- a reflexo em torno do conceito de corpo e a utilizao do corpo na arte
contempornea, nomeadamente na performance;
- o corpo do artista e o corpo do espectador;
- o espectador interactor e a definio de ambientes imersivos e interactivos: novos

media, vdeo e instalao.
- a linguagem da pintura e da escultura e sua relao com a cenografia.
5. SYLLABUS (1000 CHARACTERS MAX)
The course takes as transversal motives the definition of image as surface and depth;
the viewers approach to space, according to the optical and haptic models. As themes
of each session, it is pointed out:
- the reflection on the concept of body and the use of the body in contemporary art,
namely in performance;
- the body of the artist and the body of the spectator;
- the interactive viewer and the definition of immersive and interactive environments:
new media, video and installation.
- the language of painting and sculpture and its relation to stage design.
6. DEMONSTRAO DA COERNCIA DOS CONTEDOS PROGRAMTICOS COM OS
OBJETIVOS DA UNIDADE CURRICULAR (MX. 1000 CARACTERES)
Tendo como propsito a discusso da produo artstica contempornea, e a relao
entre as diversas disciplinas e linguagens, a uc toma como enunciados comuns s
vrias sesses a relao entre espao e imagem (como superfcie e profundidade); a
relao entre o espao e o espectador; o corpo e a obra.
Aborda questes relacionadas com diversos media e linguagens e socorre-se da anlise
da obra de inmeros artistas, a maioria contemporneos, muito embora se coloquem
lado-a-lado geraes muito diversas. Estabelece-se um fluxo de contaminaes e
cruzamentos, usando-se uma anlise no cronolgica, que privilegia o desenho de
relaes entre obras, contextos e conceitos.
6. PROOF OF COHERENCE BETWEEN THE SYLLABUS AND THE LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Having as a purpose the discussion of contemporary artistic production, and the
relation between the different disciplines and languages, the course takes as common
statements the relation between space and image (as surface and depth); the relation
between space and the spectator; the body and the work.
It addresses issues related to various media and languages and analyses the work of
different artists, most of whom are contemporaries, even though very different
generations are placed side by side. It establishes a flow of contaminations and
crossings, using a non-chronological analysis, which privileges the design of relations
between works, contexts and concepts.
7. METODOLOGIAS DE ENSINO (AVALIAO INCLUDA) (1000 CARACTERES)
Em cada sesso abordada uma temtica/ disciplina e recorre-se a uma exposio
terica apoiada em materiais audiovisuais que percorre a obra de diversos artistas e
autores. Sempre que as temticas so especficas, recorre-se organizao de
conferncias com autores familiarizados com as questes em apreo.

Each session is dedicated to a thematic / discipline. The themes are discussed based on
a theoretical exposition, supported by audiovisual materials. There are organized
conferences, with invited experts, to specific themes. The evaluation is based
