advertised externally for appointment purposes. The posts will also be

related matters, including medical boards, injuries on duty.

appointment of employees, transfers, service terminations and
related matters. *Manage and co-ordinate all promotion related
matters. *Manage and co-ordinate all the medals and awards and
related matters. *Co-ordinate and update functions on the PERSAL
and PERSAP systems. *Co-ordinate the Employee Assistance
Programme and the sport and recreation events. *Manage and
control the human and physical resources of the sub-section.

*Administer, Maintain and Co-ordinate PEP and Job Descriptions in
terms of compilation, processing and auditing. *Administer and
maintain SAPS Incentives and Rewards Scheme and Promotions.
*Administer, maintain and co-ordinate Absenteeism Management
and all medical related matters. *Administer, maintain and co-
ordinate all recruitment related matters and the appointment of
employees. *Administer, maintain and co-ordinate all transfers,
occupational translations and service termination cases and related
matters. *Administer the human and physical resources of the sub-
section. *Liaise with various clients regarding all matters regarding
Personnel Services and Career Management

*Compiling and capturing of Performance Appraisal (PEP)
documents and Job Descriptions. *Capturing of applications for the
SAPS Incentives and Rewards Scheme and the co-ordination of
Promotions within the SAPS. *Receiving, processing , updating and
auditing of leave with respect to absenteeism Management and all
medical related matters. *Administer, maintain and co-ordinate all
recruitment related matters and the appointment of employees.
*Administration and maintenance all transfers, occupational
translations and service termination cases and related matters.
*To administer the human and physical resources of the sub-section.
*Liaise with various clients regarding all matters regarding Personnel
Services and Career Management.
Core Functions:
*Capturing leave applications on the Persal System. *Auditing of
leave. *Updating of the SAP 28/47 registers. *Liaising with various
commanders regarding absenteeism management. *Dealing with all
absenteeism related matters in terms of Temporary Incapacity
Leave, Family Responsibility, Injury on Duty etc. *Compilation of
monthly leave reports. *To administer the human and physical
resources of the sub-section.
Core Functions:
*Administer, Maintain and Co-ordinate PEP and Job Descriptions in
terms of compilation, processing and auditing. *Administer and
maintain SAPS Incentives and Rewards Scheme. *Implement and
co-ordinate Skills Development Facilitation. *Implement and
administer training provisioning and related matters. *To co-ordinate
decentralized training workplace skills plan as well as addressing
training and development needs of an individual or the section
through human resource needs. *Administer the training committee
process. *Compile and implement the Workplace Skills Plan and
compile training reports. *Co-ordinate external training interventions.
*Develop a database on external providers. *Register and maintain
courses on the Training Administration System (TAS).
4. GENERAL:
• The above posts are at National level within the South African Police
Service.
• Only the official application form: Z83 will be accepted. All instructions on
the application form must be adhered to, failure to do so may result in the
rejection of the application.
• The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly
specified on the application form.
• A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae must be submitted together with the
application form.
• Certified copies of an applicants ID document, motor vehicle drivers licence
(Police Act appointments), all educational qualification obtained and
service certificates of previous employers stating the occupation, must also
be submitted and attached to every application.
• The South African Police Service will verify the residential address and
qualifications of applicants, as well as citizenship. Reference checking will
be conducted on all short listed applicants.
• Applicants will be submitted to a medical examination at the expense of
SAPS (only Police Act Appointments)
• Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance
package, early retirement or for medical reasons, as well as persons with
previous convictions, are excluded.
• Applications must be mailed timeously. Late applications will not be
accepted or considered.
• The closing date for applications is 30 July 2010 at 12h00.
• If a candidate is short-listed, it can be expected of him/her to undergo a
personal interview.
