PAR-3 KINGS
Par-3 Kings is a year long contest for members of the Pinole Mens Golf Association.
The contest will start with the November 2016 tournament at Franklin Canyon GC
and will conclude at the PMGA Club Championship Final in September 2017. There
will be six separate flights with approximately twelve golfers in each flight. The top
two golfers in each flight that hit the most par-3 greens in regulation (hit the green
with their tee shot) will win prizes. The golfer that accumulates the most points
awarded for hitting par-3 greens will be crowned the PAR-3 KING for their flight
(See Scoring). The flights will be as follows:

1st Flight 0-10 2nd Flight 11-15 3rd Flight 16-19

4th Flight 20-22 5th Flight 23-29 6th Flight 30+

Rules and Guidelines

A special scorecard will be provided for each group. A PMGA member that is not
keeping the official golf scorecard will keep the PAR-3 KINGS scorecard. When a
player hits a par-3 green in regulation, the scorekeeper will put an X in the box
provided for that par-3 hole. If a player does not hit the green in regulation, the
scorekeeper will put an O in the box blank.

Scoring

Points will be awarded for each par-3 green that is hit. Each green hit in the first
four tournaments will receive 1 point each. Each green hit in a Club Championship
Playoff event will receive 1 1/2 points each. Each green hit in the Club Champion-
ship Final round will receive 2 points each. Players that participate in a tournament
but miss every green will receive 1/2 point. The player that has the highest point
total at the conclusion of the contest will be the winner of their specific flight. Up-
dated totals will be posted in the monthly edition of the Sand Trapper beginning
February 2017.
Prize Fund
The prize fund for the Par-3 Kings contest is coming from sponsorships and does
not include any monies generated from PMGA related income. Sponsors will re-
ceive acknowledgement beginning February 2017 on Par-3 signs and on the PMGA
Sponsors page located in each monthly edition of the Sand Trapper newsletter.

Birdie Champions
Birdie Champions is a year long contest for members of the Pinole Mens Golf Associa-
tion. The contest will start with the November 2016 tournament at Franklin Canyon
GC and will conclude at the PMGA Club Championship Final in September 2017.
There will be six separate flights with approximately twelve golfers in each flight. The
top two golfers in each flight that have the highest total of birdies (includes gross
birdies, net birdies, eagles etc.) will win prizes. The golfer that accumulates the most
points awarded for birdies will be crowned the Birdie Champion for their specific
flight (See Scoring). The flights will be as follows:

1st Flight 0-10 2nd Flight 11-15 3rd Flight 16-19

4th Flight 20-22 5th Flight 23-29 6th Flight 30+

Rules and Guidelines

Dave McCracken will keep track of Net and Gross birdies made by PMGA member
during PMGA tournaments. Net birdies will be calculated using the updated handi-
cap for each monthly tournament. Players handicaps on the date of the first event
will be used to place players in their specific flight. Players will remain in that flight un-
til the conclusion of the contest no matter how much their handicap increas-
es/decreases during the contest period.

Scoring

Points will be awarded for each birdie. Each birdie recorded in the first four tourna-
ments will receive 1 point each. Each birdie recorded in a Club Championship
Playoff event will receive 1 1/2 points each. Each birdie recorded in the Club Cham-
pionship Final round will receive 2 points each. Players that participate in a tourna-
ment but miss every green will receive 1/2 point. Updated totals will be posted in the
monthly edition of the Sand Trapper beginning February 2017.

Prize Fund
The prize fund for the Birdie Champions contest is coming from sponsorships and
does not include any monies generated from PMGA related income. Sponsors will re-
ceive acknowledgement beginning February 2017 on the PMGA Sponsors page lo-
cated in each monthly edition of the Sand Trapper newsletter.
