II. Highlights of Events

The day started with the registration around 7:00am at the Org lobby.
The students came with their parents and went their separate ways.
The parents attended the Holy Mass in the FAITH Atrium at exactly 9:30am while the
students went straight to their assigned classrooms.
The mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jesse L. Ballilia.
During the homily, Rev. Fr. Jesse talked about the Grace of God by relating it to the equality
of workload on a particular setting. He also talked about the danger of jealousy by relating it
in a balik-bayan box wherein people will tend to declare ownership on items and sometimes,
this results to comparison of who gets the good item and who gets the bad one. He also
reiterated that the salary that people get from working are not totally the literal payment for
their hard work, but merely the results of mercy of our Lord.
After the mass, the parents proceeded to the college lobby where they had their snacks and
went back to the FAITH Atrium for the GIFT talk.
The speaker, Mr. Jaime Leornas, the Country Director for Family and Life Philippines ,
talked about being a parent, his talked was about Magulang ako Parenting in the Pro-Life
&Pro Family Perspective. The ultimate goal of the talk was to instill to the attending
parents minds that they should push and support their kids on their spiritual growth. The kids
of today were being raised with the mantra follow your dreams, but, as parents, they should
reiterate to their kids that as they go on their professional and personal journey, they should
not let their spiritual journey be left behind.
Mr. Leornas also highlighted that the highest form of love is sacrifice, with all the hardships
that they are currently experiencing with their kids; parents must see it not as a problem, but
an opportunity to extend their love to their kids.
The talked commenced at exactly 12:20 pm.
On the other hand the students had their activities with the assigned facilitators on each
section namely Mr. Orlando Garcia, Mr. Julius Marquez, Mr. Jerwin Cantos and Mr. Ranny
Verano.
Their activities focused on Choosing Paths. The facilitators reiterated that we have a
100% say into what our destiny will be, we can foretell our own future, never let others to do
this for us.
The students had two sessions. First, My Hands and Me, where in each of the students
anticipated their strength, failures, mistakes, defeats, frustrations, achievements, success,
ambitions, dreams, visions and weaknesses. Second, My Hands and Others, where in each
students anticipated who will they envision their own self as they interact with other people.
Their sessions ended with their pm snacks, class pictures and prayer at around 12:20pm.
