Morning Programme. By Carter and Connar.

For prayer we are learning about keeping quiet and still so we
can hear the voice of God. We have also been learning about
symbols and rituals that are present in the seven sacraments.

For huff and puff we have been doing line dancing and jump
jam, our class likes dancing. The focus and learning for this is,
taking part with enthusiasm and learning important body
movement.
We always have Oral Language in the morning. It is really
important to talk to each other and work on our vocab. We
also learn about our world and stay
connected with technology.

Algebra is the focus for maths, we are learning
sequential patterns and repeating patterns. We have also been
doing greater than and less than
relationships. Our school has recently got two weeks of free
mathletics. We love mathletics and feel that it really works
alongside our maths programme to help us get faster at basic
facts and more knowledgeable. From week five onwards we
are back into numeracy with a big focus on fractions and
multiplication.

Literacy programme. By Lucy and Jordan.

In room 4 2010 Term 3 for our literacy we have been using
the reading strategies. These help us understand what we read.
We have been using Inferring, making connections, prior
knowledge and predictions. We have also been reading a text
in our reading groups for guided reading and completing
follow up. We make the use of technology for this we have
been
using Microsoft paint, the webcam and also Web 2 tools.

Check Chunk Cheer is our spelling programme and this term
our vocab has been improving with suffix and prefix words.

We have been focusing on writing good narratives. These are
when we can describe our characters and use great
vocabulary. As well as connecting words, we have also been
doing story maps, these help plan our narrative easily. We
have been focusing on making sure our descriptions have
three parts. For Example. He had a black hat, long shoes and
curly hair. We describe with simile, metaphor and vigorous
verbs. We have had a shared book this term called Peter and
the starcatchers. This is a prequel to Peter pan. It is a novel and
we love it and cant wait to read it every day.

Keeping Ourselves Safe, hockey, art and the
production.
By Carter and Christine.

For keeping ourselves safe we have been learning about
touching, we also know when to say no and what to do when
you are home alone or on the computer alone We are now
writing a narrative to do with keeping ourselves safe, this
narrative has to have one rule we have learnt and we will
present them to the junior classes to read.

In hockey we are learning to hit with the flat side of the
hockey stick and how to keep control and to tackle the ball not
the stick. Just recently the pirate roller hockey team came to
our school they showed us a goalie stick, a goalie stick is
fatter than a normal stick.

For art we have been creating patterns, we used white crayon
and powder dye then we sprayed it with water and left it to
dry we have also created some cow art we have painted our
own cows. Art is awesome

For our production our theme is heaven and
reverence.
We are so excited its going to be awesome.
