Maximum of 25 assignments per unit and hence, maximum of 125
assignments for a module covering the whole contents of the Course
b. Home work / Class shall be given for which students shall submit 2 assignments per
Assignment Policy unit and 10 assignments in total.

The class quiz/assignment used to conduct during the class/tutorial


c. Class Quiz Policy: hours by questioning the students. The students shall answer by oral
or written. It may be taken 5 % of total marks

d. Continuous Assessment There are three Continuous Assessment Tests. It constitutes 10% of
the total. Each test carries 50 marks. The average of the best two
Test (CAT) Policy:
CAT scores will be taken for 10% of the total assessment. CAT-I
covers the first 1.5 units, CAT-II covers the second 1.5 units and
CAT-III covers the last 2 units.

e. Model Exam Policy: The Model Exam will cover all the units of the Course and will be
assessed for a maximum of 100 marks. It constitutes 10% of the
total. The Question paper will have three sections: Section A with
ten short answer questions each carrying 2 marks; Section B with
five questions in either/or pattern each carrying 4 marks; Section C
with five questions in either /or pattern each carrying 12 marks. The
questions will be evenly divided between all the five units of the
syllabus.
f. End Exam Policy: The End Exam will cover all the 5 units of the Course and will be
assessed for a maximum of 100 marks. It constitutes 60% of the
total. It will be conducted at the end of the semester.
g. Project Policy: The objective of project work is to enable the students to work in

convenient groups of not more than three members in a group on a

project involving theoretical and experimental studies related to the

Course of study. Every Project Work shall have a Guide who is a

member of the faculty of the College or University. Time shall be

allotted in the academic Time Table for the project work and this

time shall be utilized by the student/s for getting assistance from the

Guide, reading library books, using laboratory, or field work as

assigned by the Guide and also for presenting periodical seminars

on progress made in the project.

Each student shall finally produce a comprehensive report covering

background information, literature Survey, problem statement,

Project work details and conclusions. This final report shall be

typewritten form as specified in the guidelines.

The continuous assessment and semester evaluation may be carried

out as specified in the guidelines to be issued from time to time.
