Technologies Chapter 1.

- The technological process

Introduction

Technology is as old as mankind.

Technology consists of a set of knowledge and skills, properly organized and systematized,
which allows people to satisfy their needs and therefore improve their living conditions.

Science is the set of knowledge acquired by humans through experimentation and study.

Technique consists of the set of abilities or skills that human beings possess.

The technological process is the working method used by technology which consists of the
ordered sequence of stages that must be followed to satisfy a need or to solve a problem.

Need or Problem-----> Technological process----->Solution

Stages of the Technological Process

Appendix
The work plan consists of organizing the construction phase so that it is divided into simple
and ordered operations in order to do the task successfully and in the shortest time possible.
Project Report is a set of documents that describes the technological process that we have
followed.
Technology classroom
Technology classroom is the place where we learn / practise the different activities of the
technological process.

Organization of workshop activities

- The coordinator and secretary: is responsible for organising the work of each group
member to achieve efficient teamwork. This person represents the group. Also
collects, checks and organises all written documents from each group member (plans,
process reports, estimates, etc.)
- The person responsible for the material: collects the material needed for the work
and is also in charge of recycling leftover material.
- The person responsible for the tools and for health and safety: looks after the tools
assigned to the group to make sure they are not lost or damaged. Also makes sure that
the group members follow the health and safety rules in the workshop and when using
tools.
- The person in charge of cleaning: makes sure each workstation is left completely
clean.
Respecting the work rules
- Using rules: indicate to us how to properly use the space, facilities, tools and
machines.
- Conservation rules: tell us how to maintain space, facilities, tools and machines in
good condition.
- Safety rules: are the instructions that must be followed to avoid accidents.
