 The Fitrah of Gender
One of the unique of life is creatures’
gender. Human have genders, too, which
are male and female.
Some people get use with the existed
similarity and difference of gender
interaction. But some of them feel a
necessity to change it and create GENDER
ISSUES .
We face gender issues in our daily
activities, in public square, office,
neighborhood, even at home.
Let’s do the gender interaction by
adapting our minds, attitudes and action
to the NATURE / FITRAH of gender.
There are lots of verses that mentioned
about male and female.
The words of dhakar, dhukran, dhukur,
rajul, rijal describe male in Al Quran.
And the words of nisa, niswat, inath,
untha, imra'at describe female in Al
Quran.
There are also the words of muslimin-
muslimat, mukminin-mukminat, etc,
which describe male and female.
To get the illustration of the Fitrah of
Gender, we should focus on the verses
which mention BOTH male and female, or
“dhakar wa nisa” in Arabic.
There 12 verses of ‘dhakar wa nisa’ which
guide us how to react to gender issues in
fitrah way.

 1. The Same Right to Live
53:21. What ! For you the male sex, and
for Him the female?
3:36. When she was delivered, she said:
“O my Lord ! Behold ! I am delivered of a
female child !” – and Allah knew best
what she brought forth – “And no wise is
the male Like the female. I have named
her Mary, and I commend her and her
offspring to Thy protection from the Evil
One, the Rejected.”
These verses shows that there is a
difference view in accepting a child.
Some people are very DISCRIMINATIVE
and think that a female child is very low.
Some of them even have a heart to kill a
baby girl. And to ‘LEGALIZE’ it, they make
a perception that killing a female child is a
dedication for Allah.

 2. The Same Right to be In Pairs
75:39. And of him He made two sexes,
male and female.
53:45. that He did create in pairs,- male
and female,
From these verses we know that human
are created in two sexes, male and
female, in purpose to be in PAIRS.
The different role in pairs is only occur in
REGENERATION process.
Male gives his sperm, while female gives
her ovum, PREGNANT and GIVES SUCK to
the baby.
It shows how couples are on a par since
they do THEIR ROLES in regeneration.
In the company, we should admit and give
female employees’ right in having a long
LEAVE for delivering and sucking the baby.
Company should anticipate the
consequence of this long leave to keep
the productivity continuity.

Pairs means male won’t be perfect as
human without female, and female won’t
be PERFECT AS HUMAN without male.
Pairs means male and female NEED EACH
OTHER and COOPERATE to be perfect.
Pairs means the cooperate is done in a
different ROLE to complete each other.
Male can’t replace of do female’s role,
and female can’t do male’s role.
So, both male and female can’t claim that
the child is only hers/his.
And, both male and female can’t left their
responsibilities to raise their child.

 3. The Same Right to be Differ
4:11. Allah (thus) direct you as regards
your Children’s (Inheritance) : to the male,
a portion equal to that of two females: if
only daughter, two or more, their share is
two-thirds of the inheritance; if only one,
her share is a half. For parents, a sixths
share of inheritance to each, if the
deceased left children; if no children, and
the parents are the only (heirs), the
mother has a third; if the deceased Left
brothers (or sisters) the mother has a
sixth. (The distribution in all cases (‘s)
after the payment of legacies and debts.
Ye know not whether your parents or your
children are nearest to you in benefit.
These are settled portions ordained by
Allah, and Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
4:176. They ask thee for a legal decision.
Say: Allah directs (thus) about those who
leave no descendants or ascendants as
heirs. If it is a man that dies, leaving a
sister but no child, she shall have half of
the inheritance: If (such a deceased was)
a woman, who left no child, her brother
takes her inheritance: If there are two
sisters, they shall have two-thirds of the
inheritance (between them): If there are
brothers and sisters, (they share), the
male having twice the share of the
female. Thus doth Allah make clear to you
(His law), lest ye err. And Allah hath
knowledge of all things.
These verses shows how the heritance
distribution had been arranged. The
arrangement is not only based on the
relation to the death but also on the
sexes. Male has TWICE the share of the
female.
By these verses, Allah shows how the
different roles of male and female will
take a LOGICAL CONSEQUENCE as a
result. The heritance distribution is the
hardest part of logical consequence that
can be accepted.
In the company, this logical consequence
can be implemented in duties distribution
and the differ payment for each job.
We generally choose male for a job or
duty which needs physical strength.

 The Consequence of Fitrah Gender
Islam had settled the relation of human in
couples by logical consequence of
separate role in regeneration.
Female with their a role to pregnant and
suck the baby, has a different physic and
mental from male’s.
Female has womb for the pregnancy,
breast for sucking the baby, and bigger
hip for delivering the baby.
This organ formation makes female
body’s growth stop earlier, and makes
them shorter and smaller than male’s.
Thus, female with their smaller body,
infirm body, breast and big hip which
burden them, have less NIMBLE and
POWER than male.
Female have a CYCLE every month as a
preparation to get a healthy pregnant and
suck the baby.
The menstruation is not only to keep the
PHYSICAL READINESS but also the
MENTALITY READINESS as well.
In each menstruation period, female’s
HORMONE has produced in a great
quantities to pushes, sharps, and trains
female’s mentality for LOVING and
PROTECTING which are really useful in
pregnancy and sucking the baby.
This mentality makes female seem more
emotional and fussier in defending
themselves, while male do the rational
way by discussing.

Thyroid Gland
Breast
Internal reproductive organs
External sexual organs
Since female get the role to pregnant and
suck the baby, male get other roles.
Since male have stronger bodies and no
obstacles of menstruation, they get the
role to MAKE the FAMILY’S LIFE (as
husband and father) which is not female’s
role.
The LEADER role is given to male
(husband) who has more rational
mentality than female (wife).
The different role of Making family’s life
and Leadership is the LOGICAL
CONSEQUENCE in DRESSED , MARRIAGE
MATTER, WITNESSES , and INHERENCE.

 4. The Same Right to Fight
3:195. And their Lord hath accepted of
them, and answered them: “Never will I
suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be
he male or female: Ye are members, one
of another: Those who have left their
homes, or been driven out therefrom, or
suffered harm in My Cause, or fought or
been slain,- verily, I will blot out from
them their iniquities, and admit them into
Gardens with rivers flowing beneath;- A
reward from the presence of Allah, and
from His presence is the best of rewards.”
The verse is told about people who fight
for Allah and pray for their fights.
Allah answer their prays and reward their
fights, male and female, with the equal
ones.
Allah shows how male and female have
the same right and responsibility to fight
in a war or hijrah.
In the community, we should give the
same CHANCE for male and female to
fight for the truth and justice in the state.
Practically, the roles and duties should be
given to those who have abilities and
expert in their fields..
In the company, we should give the same
CHANCE for all employees, male and
female, to actualize themselves through
CAREER LEVEL and REWARD SYSTEM.
The chance should be given with the
same CRITERIA . The employee, male or
female, should give the high competence
and performance in professional and
managerial.

 5. The Same Right to Get Rewards
4:124. If any do deeds of righteousness,-
be they male or female – and have faith,
they will enter Heaven, and not the least
injustice will be done to them.
16:97. Whoever works righteousness,
man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to
him will We give a new Life, a life that is
good and pure and We will bestow on
such their reward according to their best
of their actions.
40:40. He that works evil will not be
requited but by the like thereof: and he
that works a righteous deeds – whether
man or woman – and is a Believer- such
will enter the Garden (of Bliss): Therein
will they have abundance without
measure.
These verses show how male and female In the company, we shouldn’t make any
have the same right to get REWARDS difference in giving rewards for male or

All male and female who have faith and But, the rewards will be given in

behaviors will get reprisals in hell

their behaviors during their lives.
It is suggested for us to implement the
rewards system in our lives, in the
community or family, to stimulate the
good deeds and avoid the bad behaviors.

 6. The Same Right to be Righteous
92:3. by (the mistery of) the creation of
male and female,
49:13. O mankind! We created you from a
single (pair) of a male and a female, and
made you into nations and tribes, that ye
may know each other (not that ye may
despise (each other). Verily the most
honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he
who is) the most righteous of you. And
Allah has full knowledge and is well
acquinted (with all things).
These verses stimulate us to act and treat
people in the same way.
The same treatment is for everybody,
whatever their color (white, non-white, or
black), languages, or genders (male or
female).
These verses also stimulate us to focus in
increasing our righteous and asking
others to do the same.
In the company, we give the same
treatment to all of employees and
management, our colleagues,
subordinates, boss, male or female, from
any background.
We will focus to be productive, work as a
solid team, and compete in giving the
best performance.

These verses show that human are

creatures. Starting from a couple male
and female, and then proliferate to the
various ethnic group.

This variety doesn’t make any differ in

human class. Righteous is the only thing
that differ human in Allah sight.

leader.

Male and female have the same right to

act and treat differently according to their
physically and mentality differences.
