Abstract Report

Introduction:-

ING Group founded in the year 1991 is a world’s largest financial service corporation. It made it
presence in India after setting up “ING Vvsya Life Insurance”, a private insurance company during the
September 2001. ING stands for International Netherlands Group. ING Vvsya Life Insurance is a joint
venture between ING Group and Vvsya Bank, which is one of the largest private sector banks in India.
This private sector life insurance company has around 140 branches all over India, with head office in
Bangalore. With 3,000 employees and 21,000 sales agent and brokers ING Life Insurance Company is
one of the fastest growing companies in insurance sector. It has around 4.5 customers, and is making a
total income of Rs. 400 crore annually.

This company also provides special policies, such as, Children's Plans; Retirement Plans; Investment
Plans and Savings Plans, which help you to secure your future financially. It also provides Life Insurance,
Medical Insurance, General Insurance, Long-Term Care Insurance, Group Insurance, Company Insurance
and Financial Services Insurance Products.

ING mission is to improvise its working standard to meet it customer’s requirement in future. Its
business is mainly driven by the value of Optimism, knowledgeable, Trustworthy and Transparent. These
values are personified by people through a set of “Personality Aspect”. These personality aspects are:
Positive, Accountable, Professional and Straightforward.

1. Comparison study between ULIPs and Traditional Plans.


2. To study the consumer perception towards the various insurance products
3. To compare ULIPs of ING Life Insurance with that of other major Life Insurance companies.

The objective of my project is to do a comparison study between ULIPs (Unit Linked Insurance Plans) and
Traditional Policies. Hence one can say that it’s a deep analysis between equity products and Debt
products. As we all know that the most of the Insurance companies are earning its revenue from its ULIP
products, analyzing this product will we give me a brief idea about different factors that are driving the
investors to put their money into these types of equity products. Based on this objective I have decided
to keep my project title as “ULIPs an Alternative Investment Avenue”.

The internet survey is mainly done to collect secondary data information and similarly questionnaire is
prepared to collect primary data. These data both Primary and Secondary are analyzed. The various
