William W. McQuilkin, Jr.

Member, National Audubon Society Board of Directors

Audubon: Its Roots and its Future

Bill McQuilkin is our newly elected regional representative to the National

Audubon Board of Directors. He has been active in Audubon at both the
state (Florida) and local (St. Johns Country Audubon Society) levels, as well
as in other conservation efforts, such as the recently established North Flor-
ida Land Trust. His goals as a board member include the creation of
stronger chapters, the expansion of state and regional involvement of chap-
ters in conservation issues, and growing a strong integrated Audubon mem-
bership with chapters as a base. Bill will present a slide show and share his
goals for Audubon from the perspective of his long involvement with Audu-
bon in Florida.

Bill and his wife, Sue, live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, in a marsh set-
ting, which contains numerous standing dead palm trees, bird-attracting na-
tive plants, and a purple martin house. They are ardent conservationists and
enthusiastic birders. Bill has extensive business experience; he has served
in the United States Air Force and worked at Eastman Kodak, Hillenbrand
Industries, and the Rochester Institute of Technology

Please note new meeting location:

Vista Room, Suggs & Kelly Law Center
500 Taylor Street (Taylor at Huger Sts.)
Map: http://www.suggskelly.com
Suggs & Kelly is located at 500 Taylor Street, at the corner of Taylor and Huger. The
parking lot is between Taylor and Hampton, and may be entered from either street. How-
ever, keep in mind that Taylor is one way outbound (west) and that Hampton is one way in-
bound (east) in this area. This means that you should be in the left lane on either street to
turn into the lot. Parking is well lit and convenient to the meeting room, which is on the first
floor and has a separate entrance to the right of the main entrance.
ALL CAS PROGRAMS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
November Field Trip
For all field trips we suggest you bring binoculars, field guide, rain gear, water, food, and insect repellent (if you have them). Non-members and

sumes no responsibilities for injuries, personal or otherwise, that may occur while attending Society-sponsored events and will not be held liable
for any such injuries. Attend at your own risk. For more information, please call a Board Member whose numbers are listed on the last page.
