Not so long ago, in the four walls of this campus a dream was born.

Dream that every young men and woman in his youthful age is willing to
die for. A dream that is nurtured by the teachings of our teachers, the tears
and laughter of a friend, our sorrows and pain and the experiences that
mold us what we are today. Tonight, where I stand I see many faces, of
various age, contented and beautiful. Indeed, it is a sweet pleasure of the
soul when the dreamer and the dream becomes one.

Fellow alumni, especially batch 82 may I request them to stand and

remain standing, members of our school faculty, our own and dearly
beloved principal, invited guests, friends, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant
evening greeting from our batch Class 1981-82!

We are here today to revisiting our alma mater. It is the time to

reminisce the past. The bygone era that made us what we are today. It is
looking back to things we love, the things that made us, the things we hold
dear to our existence and the things that made us as an alumnae of this
beloved alma mater. This event does not only bring back the memories of
the past rather it also remind us that somehow deep buried in the past, in
our high school days, something need to be brought to the future in order
for us to move further. Something that is pure, like the smile of a friend, the
songs that we shared and the ideals that this school have taught us during
our stay. This reminds us that this school will forever be a part of our life.
This is also the best time for us to share our learnings, our growth our
wealth that we acquired throughout the years after we left our al mater.

It is noteworthy that, our school was named after St. Mary the
Virgin, the faithful servant, the bearer of love, the complete idea of success.
For despite poverty, pain and fear she boldly followed the path set to her
and eventually conquered all the hindrances along the way.

Today as I look at every one of you, I see wrinkles, eye bugs white
hair and most of all I see curves that does not belong to their rightful place.
The age of youth is indeed gone except the young alumnae of course.

Kiddingly aside, I see the face of love. Love because I see a father, a
mother, to some a grandfather or a grandmother and a loving husband or
wife to his beloved, a civil servant, a public servant to name a few. Our
teachers taught us that we are all winners. And that we extend our hands to
the people we care most, the people we meet and to strangers as we serve
without expecting something in return. Such act is no less than what we call
selfless service.
Prior to our departure from this school, we are just dreamers.
Dreaming of something better, dreaming for a life full of adventures. These
dreams were harnessed by our teachers, our parents and others who in one
way or another loved us, who although not always seen on their acts,
believed in us. This made us stronger and before we set off, they knew very
well that we are ready to face new challenges. I see success because, I see
Businessmen, farmers, professionals such as priests, lawyers, doctors, nurses
teachers, employees of the government or otherwise. People who despite
the poverty that surrounds our place, they emerged to be successful on
their own chosen path of life.

This gathering is likewise giving us the opportunity not only to look

backward and measure how far we have become but to refresh our ideas,
to set new objectives and to start a new goal not only to our personal life
but most of all for the service of our fellow being. That is the meaning of
the name of our alma mater.

In relation to this, may I therefore suggest that we must actively

support and engage ourselves for the renovation of the boys dorm and
girls dorm for students for we all knew that although our school is located
at the heart of Sagada most student came from far flung areas. In this
manner the school can manage to support these students and provide them
a home away from their own.

Moreover, I also strongly suggest supporting the scholarship programs

of the school. The kind of support that shall lead promising students to the
realization of their goals. This shall be our solemn vow, for they will
become new leaders as we are now.

Let us remember also our mentors, who taught us the knowledge,

skills, values and more. We must not forget that there is no school without
teachers. Their teachings served as our best weapon as we walk the path of
life. For whatever we have or we have become is not only the result of our
own labor but due to the inspiration they shared and the help of our loved
ones.

Finally, let us congratulate ourselves as we continue to serve, our

community, associations, the alumni from different years and students.
