 Feedback Amplifiers
Feedback can be either negative(degenerative) or
positive(regenerative)
Negative feedback is applied to effect one or more of the
following properties
Desensitize the gain
Reduce non-linear distortions
Reduce the effect of noise
Control the input and output impedance
Extend the bandwidth of the amplifier
 Feedback Amplifiers
Feedback amplifiers are classified into four types
based on the voltage or current is fed back in series
or parallel.
Voltage series feedback amplifier

Voltage shunt feedback amplifier

Current series feedback amplifier

Current shunt feedback amplifier

Bandwidth with feedback Defined as the range of frequencies for which the
gain remains constant.

Total output offset voltage with feedback In an op-amp if input is 0 then the
output should be 0. But because of the effect of the input offset voltage and
current the output is larger.
