PRESS BRIEFING SEPT. 3 ON SOHO INVESTIGATION AND RECOVERY


OPERATIONS

NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) will hold a press
conference September 3 to provide the latest information on
the recovery of the agencies' Solar and Heliospheric
Observatory (SOHO). The press briefing will begin at 10 a.m.
EDT at the NASA Headquarters auditorium, 300 E St. SW,
Washington, DC. An audio link will allow for media questions
answered by ESA representatives in Parisand staff at NASA
Headquarters and participating NASA centers. Contact: Donald

ITEM 1: VEHICLE ASSEMBLY BUILDING GETS FACELIFT


Kennedy Space Center's giant Vehicle Assembly Building is
getting a makeover just in time for the John Glenn/STS-95
mission. Painters will use approximately 700 gallons of red,
white, and blue paint to cover the building's 73.000 square
feet.
