SWC Lesson Reflection

This lesson is for the grade level KG2; the lesson has taken place in the classroom. The learning outcomes
that I was trying to achieve in this lesson are; The students will be able to learn to say, read and write letter
/p/. And identify words that begin with the letter P.
The students did very well; they were engaged and enjoyed what they were learning. They were actively
participating and responding to my questions and the activities. In my opinion, the reason the students
responded that way was that I started the lesson with the mystery box, it was a very fun and interesting
activity to the students because I got their attention by making them wonder and Curious about what
could be inside the box.
Moreover, they were motivated to learn by the competitive activity. As groups, the students were given
poster of (p is for), and three pictures start with p and one picture doesnt start with letter p. I made the
activity as a competitive activity between the groups. And I motivate them by telling them that the winner
group will have a smiley face stamp on their hands. The activity ran very smoothly but I should change one
thing next time, because after they finished I asked one student from each group to come up to present
their work, while the first group was presenting their poster, the other groups were not attention to what
was the student saying because they were busy playing and fixing their poster. So next time, I will ask the
groups to give me the posters and then let them present their work.
I tried to relate my teaching to the students prior understanding by connecting the vocabulary words to
their real life, for example, I introduced the popcorn by telling them that its food that we eat when we go
to the cinema or when we watch movies.
The aspects that I need to improve is the transition from the corners or the activities to the circle. Because
I took too much time to gather the student again in the circle time after they finished the activities on the
tables.
- The low level activity coloring the letter

- The medal level activity tracing the letter

- The high level activity writing the letter
