Margaret Fanny Harriet Prendergast, known to her friends
as Guitta, died Sunday, Oct. 22, at her home in Burlingame,

Latvia, Guitta, but grew up in Germany,
Belgium and later married Frank
Prendergast in Tehran, Persia. She emi-
grated to England, Canada and finally to
Burlingame, California. In Burlingame,
she was active as the director of chil-
drens theater at the Burlingame recre-
ation center. A linguist speaking seven
languages, she taught French for many
years for the American Association of University women.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank Prendergast
A. I. A. in 2016. Guitta is survived by her son Alan
Prendergast (wife Nansi Barrie) and granddaughter Isabel
Prendergast of New York City; her daughter Monica Ryan of
Pennsylvania (husband Raymond Ryan) and their children
Elizabeth Ryan and Adrian Ryan (wife Darian Perez); niece
Eve-Lynn Scheinesson and (husband Larry Thomas) of
